Honest question. How is she a moderate? A moderate has to have at least some conservative tendencies. Does she have any?
It’s most certainly a blow to democracy, because the Democrats could have held an open primary and let the voters decide. They knew full well Biden was a walking corpse long before the primary season kicked off. Instead, they let Biden get the nomination and then forced him out so they could disenfranchise the voters and install their preferred candidate.
I am Dutch and in my school in The Hague, the teachers spent a lot of time teaching younger generations to appreciate the brave American soldiers who freed us from Nazi Germany. We show more respect to fallen American soldiers than Donald Trump. Because of our history we are scared of autocrats like Putin or anyone who supports him. The Netherlands has invested billions of dollars to help Ukraine fight Putin. The last thing we want is for an American president to question the importance of fighting Putin. It’s truly incomprehensible.
With the Clinton Crime Family throwing their support behind Kam Harris and the Obama duo not supporting KH, this could be fun to watch. They won’t be singing the old Wonder/McCartney song “Ebony and Ivory” at the DNC convention.
To be fair, we can generally label congressmen and Senators of either party "moderate" if they don't have rhetoric or a record aligned with the extreme fringe of their party. Think Romney, Warner, Sasse.... (she's also not an outright criminal, which these days is a surprise bonus in an election for POTUS. )
We saw Biden 6 months ago deliver a powerful State of the Union. He clearly wanted to run. I was disappointed when he chose to run for a sundry of reasons, but he made the choice. Then, there was the debate debacle. But the debate took place after the primaries. At that point, there was no more escaping what was becoming obvious - he did nit have the strength to be President in the second term. I think you’ve started 48 posts (+/-) telling us all how incompetent Biden is to hold office. It is not disenfranchisement for Biden to change his mind. It is silly to say otherwise. To be sure, it almost sounds like your party made a bad tactical decision shouting every day through Twitter and your media about how Biden should step down. But he listened and finally came to the right conclusion that someone else is needed to run for office. And it it’s Harris, it’s a big win for you people. You’ve been saying a vote for Biden is a vote for Harris for the last year or so. Now she’s made it official.
Plenty? I can name one (G8tas). Look at OK's poll: POLL: - Do you think Biden steps aside or continues on? | Page 2 | Swamp Gas Forums Two Dem votes for Biden not stepping down (4.8% of the vote). In the end, I'm amused by the assuredness some posters put behind their proclamations that this or that will happen. Too often such hot takes end up appearing foolish.
She locked up a lot of people in California to the point to where her African American support there is pretty soft. Does that count?
