Body cam footage hasn’t been released yet, but it can’t be favorable if he’s been charged already. A woman called 911 saying she thought there was an intruder in her home. When police showed up, she let them in … she was polite but possibly having a mental health issue.

Article says, The cops allowed her to remove a hot pot from her stove, but then for some reason not explained, one of the cops drew his gun and ordered her to put the pot down, she dropped to the ground in fear and put her hands up. The cop then shot her… it’s really not clear why he acted this way but maybe the body cam footage will explain more.

The cop that did the shooting apparently “forgot” to activate his body cam… the other cop did have it on, though.

Damn. He shot her in the face and then told his partner to not grab the med kit. I'm going to hold off judgment for now, but this stinks.

except cops actually hurt people. It’s the difference between being outraged by abuses of power perpetrated by tax funded organizations and outrage born from bigotry.

Nah. Its the same thing by the same posters.

Try and disparage an entire group of people by the missteps of a very small few. All while trying to jab it to the other side on a message board.

When killing an innocent woman by shooting her in the face is called a "misstep."

In fairness, there is an entire sub-genre of TikTok and YT videos focused on citizen liberty and “audit the police”. We can disagree on the moral equivalency of trans bathroom and girls sports, but man… liberty at the hands of the state is a serious thing American’s need to fight to keep.

    Such a dumb take.

The “cop threads” are almost always about police killing someone or some crazy abuse of force. You know what? Those threads don’t even scratch the surface of the issues in policing.

The trans threads on the other hand pretty much always involve… someone winning at sports. You think that’s an equivalent type story to a woman getting shot in the face!!!??? And unlike the puny proportion of policing issues covered in the mainstream press I think the trans-obsessers catch pretty much all the ones who would dare win. Yeah. Definitely the same thing.

I was today years old when I learned that the execution of citizens by its LEOs is comparable to trans faces on beer cans and drag shows.

    Nice twist.

I referring to everyone. Trans threads included. Not just cop threads in that comment, and even said so.

    You should edit your post.

I was referring to how dumb it is when people start threads about Trans crime.

I am literally saying how dumb those threads are too but some of you are so entrenched you cant see that.

The point is. Certain posters start dumb trans threads and certain ones like to tell us every time a cop does something bad.

Mostly both sides just want to troll.

The point is that NEITHER are representative of the whole group.

Didnt know I had to explain that, but dig in folks

You appeared to have equivalenced cop threads and trans threads - yes or no? Is this therefore a dumb thread?

An awful take Tilly. I THINK I get your point, but its kind of shocking that your brain went there at all, and of all the comparisons you chose to compare posts about law enforcement murder and negligence to trans stuff is … an interesting choice. We’ll just leave it at that.

Nah, I don't think I will. What missteps are the trans people committing, throwing people off of buildings?

Largely existing. Occasionally, they want to do something especially awful like play a sport or use a public restroom or sell beer.

Despicable act from the officer, who deserves to be punished. I can’t imagine what the family is going through.

Uhh, you used the word misstep. So presumably you think this story of a woman getting shot in the face in her own home is yet another example of a “misstep”. That it’s just the same level seriousness as some rando trans story (which is most likely about sports).

Instead of him editing his post… you should stop digging?

Is there even a thing where people track “trans crime”? Seems the obsession is mostly about sports.

Like… the whole concept of this comparison is crazy. There’s almost a million cops in this country, and even if 90% are honorable, those that aren’t equate to many thousands of incidents of corruption and violence. In some cases, entire departments are corrupt so with certain police departments one can hardly even go with the “90% are good cops” platitude. The stories reported in media are just the egregious few. (Shoot a woman in her bed, shoot a woman in the face, kneel on the neck for 10 minutes, shooting a child with a toy gun, etc etc). These aren’t “missteps”. They are murders. The fact that you even used the word “misstep” is revealing here of your bias, and you are by no means alone, which of course is the reason it’s extremely difficult to get a conviction against bad cops.

In this case the guy was charged right away, so perhaps most people would agree it’s pretty clear and non-controversial. But we’ll see if they can eventually get a conviction, or if the defense can find a juror to see it as a “misstep”.
