Cubelic has commented in multiple media that who was not retained is important, just like who was retained, and he said something to the effect of the ****heads have been removed from the team and that the buy in is really high now. If it is Uman taking some plays off so he can increase his sack/pressure rate or Kimber running away from tackles, that is huge negative leadership that affects the team. We all would like to say that who you inherit is who your team is and you have to win with them, but that is probably too simple of an analysis. With personnel changes needed and probably self-inflicted wounds from staff choices (or what was available at the time) and strength and conditioning have set us back to where this is the first chance the team has to look like an improved team regardless of what ends up to be the actual W/L.

I've seen a couple of podcasts, and he inferred it was much more than 1 player, which is easy to see from parting shots from at least 3 other players leaving UF, who were at least helpful on the field last year. But, yes, Mazz was the biggest headache of them, while not being at all what he was advertised to be when we got him.
