Attack? Asking someone not to run because they do not feel he will have the mental acuity to handle the next four years is “unreal”? Keep in mind, Biden has obviously been old and always made gaffes but the debate performance really put it forefront in people’s minds. I’m sure those that dealt with Biden on a daily basis have seen this already but for most of the general public it was a different experience, particularly when comparing it to his state of the union performance.

That was never an issue when Dems thought he had a chance.

We don’t think he has a chance because he appeared to be MUCH MORE SENILE in the debate than he had previously. The performance cast doubt on his ability to serve another term in the minds of many democrats at that moment. I’m not sure what you’re not grasping here.

If the Democratic leaders (Obama, Schumer, Pelosi) push Biden out of the race, aren't they disenfranchising all of the people that voted for him in all the primaries earlier this year?

Sure. But it's still ultimately his call.

One could also ask the question would the people who voted for Biden in the primaries have done so if they were aware of his actual condition and there were one or more credible opponents in those primaries? The results may have been far different if Biden had to participate in debates during the primaries.

What are you talking about? They’re one and the same. The polls turned after that debate performance.

    Yes and no.

Biden, as the incumbent POTUS, wasn’t exactly challenged in those primaries.

Personally, if this happened I don’t give a crap who it is. Any normal sounding non-geriatric would be a relief from these two. I’m sure there are many many millions with that thinking.

Aren't most Biden supporters newly disenfranchised anyway? This take, along with the Pub suggestion that "they're only trying to push him out because they think they will lose" reminds me of some of the Covid ridiculousness. In particular, the belief that things are static and the denial that conditions change, necessitating dynamic alteration.

My response: Pubs are just scared that if the Dems switch candidates, Trump will lose his a$$ again. See how that works?

Yes, Donald Trump is a much better human being. Oh, he "had one job" politically and only tried to overthrow the government. But hey, if at first you don't succeed.... "America, give me another chance!"

Maybe it's just me but it looks more like he was speaking with her rather than trying to kiss her. Reminds me of the video of Obama "bowing" to the King of Saudi Arabia when the reality was that he was bending over to shake the hand of the King not bowing before him.

Not totally unfair, although also probably not mentioned if not for his debate performance.

It’s basically same thing as Trump really struggling going down a ramp, or struggling with a glass of water, or people analyzing his “forward lean” as a sign of cognitive decline.

I do think Biden had started looking a lot more frail, he was still decently fit for his age in ‘20 but fully has the old man shuffle going now.
