It's honestly hilarious. At least she didn't pick a smarter way to tank the case. DOJ should let this one go, reindict Trump, and try to get a better judge on the case.

That should not be seen as approval of her decision. It's unserious. Until we reach a point where Garland or Biden want Smith off the case, there's no legal dispute to decide here. The DOJ can hire prosecutors and give them as much discretion as leadership wants.

But the thing people need to understand is the FedSoc pipeline don't care. They realize that the judiciary is a political branch they can use to hold or take power. We need to stop idealizing that branch of government and judges.

IMO, the only possible path to Trump losing is Biden stepping down and a moderate steps up, coupled with Trump increasing the rhetoric noise back up.

But for the good news, I’m neither a paid political analyst, AND I did NOT stay in a Holiday Inn. So, my margin of error is pretty damn high!

Will this also stop the DC case until it is overruled or can the DC case now proceed since the docket is clear?

What other cases were deferring trial dates until this is complete?

Cannons ruling won’t impact the DC case. The immunity decision will, but Cannon’s decision has no binding weight in DC or Atlanta.

Going to add: Cannon's decision has no binding weight anywhere, except in the case in her courtroom. ;)

so this is a good thing in as much as it clears the calendar for the other case to proceed with a legit judge?

Her marching orders were obviously to delay, that mission was already accomplished.

It’s curious timing to say the least, but im guessing the political hack judge intended to drop it right before the RNC, it wasn’t a 90 page ruling cranked out days after an assassination attempt.

But I guess it does allow the appeals to start immediately at least, instead of waiting even more weeks/months.

It has no discernible impact on another case, unless the other judge is persuaded by her reasoning that Jack Smith has no lawful authority to prosecute.

Maybe she thought the public would be more sympathetic to her decision given the attempted assassination?

certainly makes her a hit at all the RNC parties. Is there a way to know if she is in town?

I thought the DC and maybe Ga case were on hold to defer the calendar to the Fl document case. Calendar cleared, will those others proceed faster now?

Smith to appeal. Will this be enough to get her thrown off the case?

Special counsel Jack Smith to appeal Trump classified documents case (msn.com)

Following U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon's decision to dismiss the classified documents case against former President Donald Trump, Special counsel Jack Smith said he intends to file an appeal.

"The dismissal of the case deviates from the uniform conclusion of all previous courts to have considered the issue that the Attorney General is statutorily authorized to appoint a Special Counsel. The Justice Department has authorized the Special Counsel to appeal the court’s order," Peter Carr, Public Information Jack Smith's office told Fox News Digital.

Unfortunately, she has already been highly successful in her assignment to delay the case until after the election.

at least one person thinks that Cannon will be dismissed.

didn't realize that her order re: legality of special counsel was limited to djt only

Court 'Going To Remove' Aileen Cannon From Trump Case: Anti-MAGA Lawyer (msn.com)

"But Judge Cannon says she's just confining her order to Donald Trump, so special counsels are only unlawful in her mind when it comes to Donald Trump. And while of course, that's not a good headline, or it's a horrific decision, it will finally allow Jack Smith to appeal to the 11th circuit. He's no doubt going to ask for Judge Canon to be removed from the case.

"Ultimately, I think the 11th circuit not only will overturn what Judge Cannon did, I think they're going to remove her from the case."

Meiselas said that Smith will also file a "detailed motion" to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit citing "all of her behavior" while ruling over the classified documents case in order to have Cannon removed from the case.

    Funny.

I saw a clip of a bunch of ear pads. My immediate thought “yeah, definitely not a cult”.

So many people legit cray cray. Almost has me thinking invasion of the body snatchers type stuff or people are having their brains microwaved.

The likely reality is much more sinister. Social media induced brain damage.
