You won’t find me saying that Trump was to blame for his handling of Civid (short of telling people to drink chloride or bleach, which a few idiots couldn’t recognize was not literal)
The Doug Burgum interview by CNN's Laura Coates last night was excellent. Was pleased to see Ms. Coates allow the governor to go into detail with answers to her questions, which were fairly decent questions, as well. Bravo CNN on that one.....
She is paid to speak well of him. It is a job requirement. She is co-chair of the RNC and she didn’t get that job through hard work and achievement so she is also beholden personally to the one that put her there.
That is one way to look at it. Another way to look at it is Trump appointed her to the position in the first place. You could call it nepotism, but that speaks something about the nature of their relationship that he would appoint her to advocate so publicly on his behalf. Overall, Trump's children all seem very supportive of their father. They speak well of him. I have never sensed anything to the contrary. If they did not speak well of him the MSM most certainly would have dug that up by now and broadcast it to the entire world.
Another way to look at it is the rampant hypocrisy of the platform — MAGA assails all semblance of DEI, screams for meritocracy, and then … MAGA swims along quietly while nepotism runs rampant and unchecked.
Weren’t several family members in on the charity scams, and thus banned from running a charity in New York? The family that grifts together sticks together I guess. The “kids” (especially Don Jr and Eric) have always been campaign surrogates, and peddle all sorts of gaslighting lies and garbage on social media. So there’s no reason to expect their honest take on anything.
Caught on a sex tape using the n word I believe. Amber Rose Hulk Hogan Dana White, who was caught on video slapping his wife Matt Gaetz What a clown show.
I don't view it as hypocrisy. Making connections is often how people land jobs. That is true whether or not you believe in meritocracy or not. She has solid previous experience in the media and on the campaign trail. She probably also shares Trump's political views, meaning she is more likely to be loyal than some other unknown person who might claim many things to land the job. It is a safe pick that is probably made on the basis of not only her previous work but also a confidence that she is fully on board with Trump's candidacy.
I'd have to agree that it isnt hypocritical, because long story short, DEI is oppositional to a patronage network. You are basically saying so yourself.
