It’ll be Kamala and Trump will dispatch her. Dems will perform better on the down ballot though. So, it’s probably a net gain for Dems versus the current situation. But she’s not going to beat Trump. I’m not 100% certain Biden wouldn’t perform better in November despite all his setbacks.

Kamala is too easy to tag with “you had one job: the border and it was a disaster.” Along with all of her many other unfortunate personality quirks and policy conundrums.

Nothing positive to add yourself about someone who threatens to occupy the White House? This is the worst kind of whataboutism.

Neither of them are possible POTUS candidates so their stupid isn’t relevant to this discussion.

Well, Kamala’s constant giggling, for one, is definitely a bit quirky.

Makes me wonder if JB really has covid or has been told by influential dem leaders that essentially you're done. I think they have given him compelling reasons to leave the race and the carrot would be he would be glorified by fellow dems and media. Either leave with dignity or leave with disgrace if he doesn't quit.

Time is of the essence for the dems and so we can already see major cracks in JB resolve to stay on. I suspect news will break within a week or so that he will pass the torch to his vp. I think things are already underway as to who she will choose as a running mate and how she will be portrayed as being better than ice cream. Therefore, the dems can thus be unified at their convention with the coronation of the first woman of color to become president. Chaos diverted.

Said it before, if Biden withdraws it could be a case of being careful what you wish for as far as supporters of the defeated former president are concerned. In contrast to Joe Biden's sad and cringe worthy performance Kamala Harris (or any of the other potential Democratic candidates) would shred Trump in a debate. Similarly, if Biden withdraws the Democrats would completely flip the script. Instead having to defend an obviously cognitively diminished candidate, it would be the Republicans who will be defending a cognitively diminished candidate with a history of unhinged rants.

Indeed. Personally, I decided long ago I wasn’t voting for Trump or Biden, but I don’t really know anything about Harris, so I would definitely give her a shot.

would be a great time to do it. I’m sure Trump will be prepared for that but still.

If Biden is too old and sickly to run for potus, doesn’t it hold true that he is too old and sickly to serve as potus for the next six months? Shouldn’t he resign or be removed as potus?

I don’t think he’s too sickly to run. I feel confident he could finish his campaign and term before keeling over (assuming he recovers from the Covid). But another 4 years? Not a chance.

Former president Barack Obama has told allies in recent days that President Biden's path to victory has greatly diminished and he thinks the president needs to seriously consider the viability of his candidacy, according to multiple people briefed on his thinking.6 mins ago
