Of course. But we need a candidate where this isn't a legitimate concern.

and the PAC's can't coordinate with the campaign...yeah...okay...there is a way to play in the grey. pubs live on the dark side of e shade spectrum daily yet you expect the dems to live on the glossy white end..interesting

get back to me when the djt campaign /pac/rnc starts paying attention to the legalities of coordination and co mingling of funds

In a separate one-on-one conversation, a person close to Biden told the president directly that he should end his candidacy, saying that was the only way to preserve his legacy and save the country from another Trump term, the person said. The president responded that he adamantly disagreed with that opinion and that he is the best candidate to defeat Trump. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe a private conversation.

That supposedly happened last weekend. We're at almost a week later. Biden isn't going anywhere

medical..he has covid,,lingering covid on the horizon

President Joe Biden tests positive for COVID-19 while campaigning in Las Vegas, has 'mild symptoms' (msn.com)

President Joe Biden tested positive for COVID-19 while traveling Wednesday in Las Vegas and is experiencing “mild symptoms” including “general malaise” from the infection, the White House said.

Press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said Biden will fly to his home in Delaware, where he will “self-isolate and will continue to carry out all of his duties fully during that time." The news had first been shared by Unidos US President and CEO Janet Murguía, who told guests at the group's convention in Las Vegas that president had sent his regrets and could not appear because he tested positive for the virus.

He could literally be dead and the campaign account still wouldn’t be transferable to another candidate other than Harris.

So much armchair quarterbacking going on in this thread. Who is 'they'? It's not up to 'they' plural, it's up to individual Democrats to decide if they want to run. And what legitimate contender is going to decide to run against the sitting president in their own party, almost certainly lose, and ruin their chances for 2028? I think the last time a sitting president had a legit challenger in the primaries was 1980, with Ted Kennedy against Carter. And he lost badly.

Btw, Trump would still be favored over Harris. she also is unpopular and they would hammer her on the border. But she would do better than Biden. Dems best bet would be someone besides her, but doubt they would do that.

Of course there's doom n gloom. The only thing separating us from a dysfunctional tyrant is an 81yr old with a stutter and declining mental acuity. Being distraught about that didn't call for click bait.

You saw a preview of what that attack would look like in one of last night’s RNC speeches. I don’t remember whose speech it was, but someone had a line similar to “President Biden only gave Kamala Harris one job, and you saw what a disaster her time as ‘border czar’ was, can you imagine putting her in charge of everything?”

I've tried locating that gif numerous times, with no success. Glad to see it's findable. :)

Did you not see the debate - and did any of the subsequent interviews give you any confidence? He is completely unable to communicate in anything other than a totally scripted message, and he struggles with that. At this point do you think he has any chance of winning?

The way he is handling this pretty much proves he is beyond that point of listening to anybody other than those that tell him what he wants to hear, which apparently is his wife and Hunter?

What makes you think everything is just going to be aok?

There's always some magical candidate who is going to do better. Ron DeSantis looked awfully promising for Republicans . . . until he ran nationally. Our best bet is Harris. Unfortunately, I don't think Biden can do it. She can take his war chest, she is nationally known, and passing her over would risk alienating indispensable parts of our base.
Not remotely worried about that. They'd have some bullshit attack for anybody we ran. Hell, when they don't have a good one, they invent one. See, e.g., Swift-boating John Kerry.

So not running out of fear of losing and future political damage when it is obvious that you have a damaged president who is likely going to be unfit is not spineless?

The "they" is the leadership that kept covering this up.

    Spineless Nancy. Spineless Chuck.
Courageous leaders would have had this hard talk 2 years ago and convinced Biden not to run, or convinced another candidate that they would support a challenge.

Biden has had one debate less than a month ago late in the campaign where he looked bad. Other than that he has been fine in public and had a great first term.

With one bad performance he’s under incredible pressure from his party. Spineless is nominating Trump. See Haley and Desantis blowing him at the RNC.

The debate was the only issue? His VP Trump agrees with you and Ukrainian president Putin also agrees.;) Also many reports from democratic circles of issues in meetings and behind closed doors.

As for the spineless Republican party...you are preaching to the choir. Both things are true.

No one who blames her for the border, and not Trump crapping on the deal,
would vote Dem under any circumstance. I think she pulls the youth harder and maybe a few dozen fence sitters but for me it’s about making sure the candidate is competent all the time not votes. I think Biden has a good chance to win.
