The father of the would-be assassin who attempted to kill the former president Saturday, Matthew Crooks, told agents that he believed his son had taken the rifle Saturday to go to the shooting range and thought he would be back by around 1 p.m., according to law enforcement officials.

When his son — Thomas Matthew Crooks — had not returned, the elder Crooks called police and reported him missing at 11 p.m., the sources said.

I was wondering when some crowd sourced footage would come out showing his movements prior to getting on the roof. This is important because he has neither a gun nor a ladder with him. They must have been stashed at some point before this. I wouldn't be surprised if he stashed the ladder in the bushes next to that building in the weeks leading up to it and given that it was a command post for the local police, the SS saw it assumed it was one of theirs.

Have they said if it is an actual free standing ladder? They keep saying "ladder" but my assumption has been it has to be an attached rooftop access ladder. If not that's even crazier.

This article has a pic that they say is the ladder in question. Which if it was he could have hid it standing up in that big ass bush/tree right there.

Analysis: Could Trump Shooting have been prevented?

why, were they the ones on the ground that had so many systemic failures? how about focusing on the people that were there and trained but didn't do their jobs

GL turning attempted humor. That’s funny in itself. you’re the one defending the rediculous DEi initiatives. The same ones Harvard, MIT and most recently Microsoft are dropping. The reason Napier doesn’t advise some Arbitrary 30% female by 2030 on coaching staff is he would be terminated within 24 hours because the head coach of UF is not a social experiment. It’s a results based job.

Go look at the detail on Trump walking into
The RNC the other night vs the nonsense at the rally. They are light years apart. At the RNC I saw white, black and pretty sure Asian agent. based on my experience and from what I saw, they were top tier agents. And I’m guessing they weren’t selected to placate A BLM shakedown repackaged as DEI. They were selected because they were the best agents. Anyway. I’ll stay back on topic.

Maybe I'm going to post the obvious, but wasnt every successful Presidential assassination in American history done when the security detail was literally 100% white men

Maybe the SS actually needs more DEI since they saw a white guy with a gun and were like "friend, no threat"

Pleas reread my post. I never suggested the Floyd riots were political or Dem inspired.

I only used those as an example because the were the biggest and most widespread in decades.

So there was NO POINTING OF FINGERS in my post.

Does the candidate “select” their detail or are they assigned by SS?

Multiple pictures and videos of what looks to be an extension ladder propped up against the wall leading to the roof. Not a permanent access ladder.

If football isnt a social experiment, I'm going to need people to stop talking about "changing the culture in the locker room or building a winning culture." If Napier started doing hug therapy instead of extra wind sprints and won a title, he'd get a statue.

You make excellent point. Hug therapy vs wind sprints and accountability in football makes about as much sense at DEI over merit in secret service or Microsoft

Reports were that he bought the ladder at Home Depot that day.

Merit is subjective, and not confined to ability. How many times have coaches played the "Rudy" practice warrior over the 5 star athlete who has bad practice habits? How many message board conversations are based around wanting to know why some guy isnt playing?

I am confused. There wasnt a woman sniper, woman casing that building, woman flagged down by spectators pointing out a guy on the roof or a woman anywhere near the security breakdowns. What is all the DEI nonsense about specifically?
