Except they're not Russia trolls--they're fellow American Gators.

But thank you for your service just the same.

...and again, just sharing my perspective on those guys (DD is actually pretty damn funny for my nickel. And I have bucked heads with him in the past on sundry issues, fwiw).

Actually, Rubio has been very outspoken in support of Ukraine--no OTR needed.

EDIT: Check that--he seems to have changed from all in on Ukr, to not so much, until our border situation is brought under control--ie the Party line.

Again, we've got way bigger problems at home--that's my biggest hang up.

...and Russia, in case you haven't noticed, is laughably impotent.

They can't get past half the width of the FLA peninsula, but we're supposed to be afeared of Putin = Hitler???

...what's more, they're getting lit up against our Army-navy surplus crap, without even getting to see the toys our citizens get to see at airshows ( which in turn, do not include our best stuff, nor even the best our airshow displays can actually accomplish).

Then there's the matter of whst those hundreds of millions of dollars are actually going to, and what we're actually paying for..

...all the while, chicom fenty kills 100k Americans per year, >10 million illegal immigrants from all over the world have waltzed into our country unvetted, including terrorists, drug dealers, sex traffickers, chicom soldiers and spec ops, cartel ops, gangs and gang bangers, rapists, murderers, robbers....

But we need to protect Ukraine's border integrity???

Let's do us first....THEN worry about Russia.

    I know...radical.

We really don't though. Energy production has never been higher. We still have the best agricultural land and production in the world. More fresh water. And we have the largest and most self-contained economy in the world. Immigration isn't really a problem on a macro scale, however an unchecked border does thwart any ability to be selective about that immigration. We're even ahead of most if not all in demographics.

And, AGAIN, Ukraine is about keeping them in their hole and not letting them create havoc across all of Europe and directly threaten NATO allies (Article 5) and create an even bigger mess. Further, we're not really spending that much anyway as most of the stuff going to them was outdated (by our standards) and going to be destroyed anyway. Yes, there is a value to those things, so a number is created to show the value, but it's not like we're just sending them cash. Plus, what money we do give them tends to come right back to defense contractors here (ammunition). Which also helps us, because we entered this thing with a major deficit in the production of those things and now we can ramp that up and start stocking up ourselves.

Stop getting your information from tainted partisan sources. There's so much information out there if you just bother to look. Our "problems" are mostly self invented and self inflicted. We are set up to dominate the next 100 years but seem determined to screw that up. Again, this is why I'm literally and enthusiastically hoping for a military coup. Our political system (and it's PR media outlets) is completely bankrupt at this point and at least the military is somewhat merit and results based. Time to focus on the bigger picture and put an end to all this nonsense.

This is a major advantage for the US. Improving our inventory of weapons and ammunition by getting rid of the oldest stuff and replacing it with newer items. One question would be is the cost associated with the aid our replacement cost or the book value of the assets we sent them?

I think that's where most of "the number" comes from. In terms of direct cash, it's not that much. The other thing I never thought about was production, which is where we really dropped off post Cold War. It's not like they're just sitting there waiting for you to order millions of rounds. They need long term commitments to justify getting those production lines up and running. Further, we need to build out more production facilities. So, cynical as it may be, this helps us get a head start on that as well.

I wouldn't bother with this place, if I was seeking to be insulated in my sources of info, now would I?

I understand your position pretty well. It's laid out repeatedly every other page in this thread alone, let alone in the MSM.

...meanwhile the border continues to be flooded (and the only proposed solution to date, was basically a political stunt to pretend to remedy the situation, of Doh! Biden's own making).

Yeah, but you're parroting stuff I only see on clips from right-wing PR outlets (FOX, etc.) and from MAGA. Every independent source tells a different story. And, sadly, you finish with that goofy Tucker-esque jab at Biden. The problems at the border and with immigration policy date back to the Reagan era and pretty much every POTUS since has their share of blame. If you honestly believe that the entire immigration issue can be laid at the feet of Biden, then you are clearly living in a bubble.

It's also interesting how you don't address 99% of the post and just reflexively go back to simplistic partisan rhetoric. MSM? I don't watch MSM. Really haven't paid attention to domestic MSM since the week after Trump's win in 2016. Seriously, I don't care about anything any of them have to say. And on the off chance I hit one while going through the channels, by bias is immediately confirmed. FOX, CNN, all of them. . . just complete and utter trash.

what is abhorent is how anyone could attempt to justify and reward what Russia has done to Ukraine. System rape, torture, civilian war crimes..I could go on. That cannot be tolerated and I have no respect for anyone willing to placate or normalize that behavior.

Your entire take is nothing but parroting the approved orthodoxy...

That's kinda' why I didn't bother with your other issues.

We've dun did this dance before a few hundred times.

Question: Why is it so important to you, if I'm not all pom poms and high kicks over this war?

    Go:

    (j/k...it's rhetorical. You needn't bother).

LMAO! Not sure what the hell you were going for, but...thanks for the laugh!

The laughable spittling mad reaction to any take that does not conform to the Snowglobe approved take is what keeps me coming back to this thread...it's...

like I said, sad. we are all people and most of us have someone who loves us. the recent disconnect from reality due to false propaganda and fear mongering is leading to a lot of disconnects which is causing a lot of people pain..just sad. Recall the article about someone losing their parents to the MAGA cult welcoming them telling them what they want to hear

Even less respect when you know their opinion would be 180* the other way if their guy was POTUS.

As I stated. To prevent a larger mess that could (or would) involve direct involvement from us, including boots on the ground.

So, what's your position, other than we need to send a bunch of outdated Bradley's to the border? Why is it 180* different than your position on, say, Iraq (where you were an outright cheerleader)?

As I stated, I already know and understand your position--why are you reitierating it for the 1,000th time, to me of all ppl???? I really do not have a problem with your position, CHFXX. Quiote frankly, I really don't care...

...and again I ask, why do you care what I thought about Iraq? Do you really want to turn this into a rehash of old Iraq threads?

    #$#$& it. I'll humor you.

I was very much pro-Iraq, after 10 years of Hussein thumbing his nose at us, after his (very likely) attack on the WTC in '93, after his attempts to assassinate our POTUS... then in the wake of 9/11 EVERYTHING changed... so sure, I was all for toppling that SH.

In contrast, while I'm no fan of Putin, I'm simply not particularly moved by his dabbings East of NATO.

Well there you have it--justification for your finger wagging regurgitation of your apporved orthodoxy, to impress your fellow choir members in this thread...

...guess I'll tune in later for a late afternoon chuckle...

In the wake of 911... Iraq... What?

Not going to rehash that either - but as least we all know you have consistently staked out incorrect positions in 21st century foreign affairs.
