These type of kids will do this as long as they can get away with the shenanigans. Someone needs to sit down have a hard talk with this kid. He is in the process of throwing away a great talent. He can't get away this forever.
This. Although a smaller percentage of the time it's the kid who just won't change, in my experience a larger majority of the time it's the adults that have surrounded the kid. Young men usually continue to mature until they're about 23-25. I still hope that Coach Napier and his staff can reach and make a difference with CM . . . but not to the detriment of our other kids.
The fact that this kid's name is even being brought up tells me that the staff is having to put in too much work to keep him on the straight and narrow. Focus on the players that want to put in the work. Cut bait and move on.
The sad part of this is that he is probably headed down a path to nowhere if he doesn't make it here after all his chances. I'm sure Napier knows that and is not going to make hasty decisions.
Well, he is still on the team as of now, and he has the ability to make right choices if he is willing to learn. I'm not expecting this to be an Avery Atkins situation, but for the benefit of UF and the team, we would want to be seen as a program that can help young guys who have not been on the right road to get their lives straight. On a positive note he has not gotten a speeding ticket, reckless driving, DUI, racing citation, drunken disorderly, or killed anyone that I am aware of, so hopefully we are doing something right so far with him.
Anyone remember the DB when Muschamp was here who asked, when he was being disciplined by Muschamp, "Do you know who I am?"
I doubt that a kid with this much athletic ability has gotten this far without multiple sit downs with coaches, teachers, clergymen, etc, etc. At this stage he’s running the risk of being labeled a bad egg that can’t be reformed. Maybe at some point he will have an epiphany and turn it around but, in the meantime he might become a poison to the team. I’m confidentCBN will handle it.
Billy has shown a willingness to offer talented but problematic young men the opportunity to grow into being legit P4 FB players - to a point. He's also shown the willingness to show them the door when they continue in their errant ways. That is as it should be. I'm pretty darn sure BN will do the right thing for the team and as much as possible for Cormani.
For some reason I was reminded of Percy "smackin' dat ass". Not sure Muschamp would have let that go like Urbs did.
if cormani is near janoris Jenkins level, they need to do whatever it takes to keep him. we are talking attitude issues here. this team needs talent. and talent sometimes requires creative management.
