Fun question. I guess I don’t really understand the positions in 3v3, so I’m tempted to just to let the 04s handle this. Green, Noah, and Horford. Maybe Wilbekin for Green if we need more perimeter defense. Wait a sec, does 3v3 play by 1s and 2s? If so, I would have to change to a more outside shooting team. I’ll keep Green, but pair him with Erik Murphy or Bonner as the big and a wing of Beal or Mike Miller. How’s that for being totally indecisive?
I didn't know what the rules are so I just looked it up. Yes, scoring is 1 point for shots inside the arc, 2 points for outside the arc. Shooting fouls inside the arc get 1 free throw, 2 freebies outside. Given that, I can see how a team that includes Jimmer Fredette and Canyon Barry would be hard to beat. Fredette had reliable range from 30 feet in college, and Barry owns UF's all-time consecutive free-throw record at 42. Kareem Maddox, their 3v3 teammate, is 6'-8" but was a terrible 3-point guy in college. Decent otherwise and about 78% on free throws. He played 4 years at Princeton, so I imagine he really knows the value of backdoor cuts to the hoop, which would be lethal in 3v3.
But back to your question... My 3v3 Gators would include Corey Brewer, Bradley Beal, and... hmm... Jason Williams if he puts the bong down. As the #4, Walter Clayton, Jr.?
Yeah I was going to ask if these were only the college versions of the players, or if the NBA versions were allowed. If NBA, Horford’s a strong choice. (a strong choice either way really)
Lots of movement- cutting, passing, and screening are huge. Three point shooting is worth more. I would have Mike Miller as my big man, then Jason Williams and Bradley Beal. Everyone can shoot, everyone can pass, everyone can run. Edit: My #4 would be Noah. You lose someone's shooting, but you can go bigger if you run into a team with someone like Jokic or Giannis.
We are talking about a mythical team with every player in his prime, right? First of all I would want some guys that have experience in the game at a high level so I have to have Pat Lawrence and Canyon Berry. Add some height that can shoot and is uber smart with Matt Bonner.
There is something that strikes me as a bit redundant about your sentence, but I can’t quite put my finger on it.
Beal, Miller and either Noah or Horford But in 2pts for 3's with 3 v 3 i'll go with Beal, Miller and Bonner
