I'm not cool enough for tattoos . . . but we apparently have the exact same cellphone case and mine aged similarly to yours. LOL! This isn't a smart-alek question, I promise, but what do you mean you got the art for you, not for others? Do you look at it a lot or is it more like wearing a cross around your neck that you don't see but know you're wearing?
First, I consider my ink art, as do many who wear tattoos. For some it is a lifestyle and for others, what is applied usually carries with it deep personal meaning. I got my first 30 years ago and still admire the work as one would a statue. Think of it like a commissioned piece. I don’t stare at it daily in some weird way, but do look at it when I need reminders of who I am and why. I do like your cross analogy. Many that know me have never seen the ink. I kept it hidden so that it wouldn’t interfere with my career choices. One of them represents me on a spiritual level and the other my family. Hope that helps.
I know a math professor who got the infinity symbol on his middle finger just above the knuckle. It’s that figure 8 looking thing. It’s pretty small. But it means a lot to him. When it comes to my artwork, none of it is deeply religious. I’m Scottish so I love the Celtic crosses and artwork I have my Sons name in cursive on that arm I have the black and red iron cross because for many years I rode choppers before my back surgery. On my other arm, I have a really cool looking scorpion because I used to keep them as pets. I also have a really kick ass Calvin and Hobbs… This is the same on that. I’ll be getting the Gator tattoo on. Randomly goofy stuff but I love it.
Fresh and bloody… once this heals I’ll go back and get the lettering and he’ll do some other touchup work around the Gator. Pretty pleased with how it came out.
Looks great Swamp! Fo a long time I considered getting the old school angry Albert that was painted in the stadium tunnels. I’ve got my next tat scheduled for August 31st.
Both my daughters, wife and I wanted to get a tattoo that would bond us. We came up with a design and all got it. I love them when I see them and it’s been oh, 10 yrs. I added a Celtic cross above mine and have another. My wife wants another and we are almost done with designs. Doing kinda steampunk versions of a clock on one and a compass on the other. Mine hangs from barbed wire and hers from a thorned vine. They are gonna be pretty cool. They are addictive. The wife and daughters did a second flower unity tat.
Thats awsome. We are also getting a family tattoo and have come up with several designs to choose from. Funny thing, my girls gave a fit about how yucky tattoos are. Now they are halfway through a sleeve.
You know. Some tattoos can definitely have deeper meaning than others. It’s like the one I got right before my Gator. It’s a demonic Calvin and Hobbs… I’m a huge Calvin and Hobbs fans and I love zombie/infection. So I kind of put them together.
