It’s just a ridiculous example just like what’s going on at Georgia. Lack of institutional control or perfect control depending on which way you look at it. It’s bad and they aren’t doing much to deter it. At least Kirby did prom extra playing time for drunk driving.
There has to be a number of similar cases in the same jurisdiction. Would be interesting to know how many non football players were pardoned.
I’d love to have a lawyer that can get you out of a DUI after a car chase. I did have a car chasing Tijuana one time. Luckily in the passenger seat was a guy who has Uncle with the chief of police, and he also worked for the cartel.
I for one would not be one bit surprised if Kirby was in on this. However, a lot of people outside the state of Georgia are not aware that the city of Athens Ga, and Clark County (where Athens is located) are totally progressive. The authorities (council, sheriff, DA, and Judge) are hard core progressives. Also, Athens is a sanctuary city where illegals can get arrested for crimes and let go before ICE even knows that they were in legal trouble.
Leaving this up since it's a potential alternative explanation for (Not So) Smart's involvement. Let's just note it but no need to discuss it any further please. Thanks!
When a team (we despise) sets themselves on fire you should not say anything... we might accidentally encourage them to put themselves out.
Police release details on reckless-driving arrest of Georgia football’s Bo Hughley The list of infractions at the end is insane
Looks like GA might be taking things a bit more seriously, or at least making a token effort: Georgia Dismisses DB David Daniel-Sisavanh After Reckless Driving Charge Georgia Dismisses Defensive Back David Daniel-Sisavanh After Reckless Driving Charge
Not a starter, a senior, and thus expendable. Sure they lose a 2 year special teams player and dime package CB, but the positive PR greatly outweighs that.
I'm sure they were probably trying to cull the herd one way or the other and this DA gave them an easy out to do so.
Sure, but he led police on a chase and endangered other drivers on the road. Maybe this DA will finally wise-up now that he's actually tasted a dose of accountability, but he chose to play for UGa, so I somehow doubt it.
