I probably missed it but is it known that he carried the rifle on his walk from the car or maybe he stashed it along with the ladder some days before like Friday night after work at the plant had ceased.

So those reports about people in the crowd calling attention to the cops that there was a guy on the roof are not accurate?

Maybe but it’s not like the SS only set up Saturday morning. They’re usually scoping out and planning weeks in advance.

Agreed. Obviously though there are wobbles in the machine. If he stashed the ladder and gun, it wouldn’t take a great deal of time. Again, I don’t know if that is what happened but its what i would do…. If

They surely have jurisdiction of the venue, and are in charge of the overall security apparatus. That’s what happens more generally with federal law enforcement. They “partner” with local law enforcement, but the feds call the shots.

Seeing how it unfolded, it very much looks like they trusted local PD with the outside perimeter. Very poor level of communication from the locals to the secret service detail, if indeed there was any message at all from local PD to secret service.

Seriously, how is anybody even arguing this when we know for a fact this guy was spotted at least 5 minutes before shots fired? Trump should have been whisked out on the first report of a possible gunman. The investigation will show the details of who f-ed up where, but I’m already confident key points will be too much trust in local law enforcement and a lacking line of communication. The building where the shooter stationed himself will also be a biggie, as far as how that showed on their security plan.

It does have all the earmarks of a communications snafu with a dash of complacency thrown in. That’s my bet until it all gets thrashed out.

Also , they may have been running a smaller than normal crew because so many were in Milwaukee clearing and securing those venues and hotels and hotel staff. Would have caused them to rely on locals more than normal

Hopefully none of the Secret Service agents were wearng red ties. That would be a bad look.

Has the Secret Service embraced DIE? Is that how Kimberly Cheatle became director? She should resign.

Is there no institution that the Democrats haven't degraded?

Trump family members need more SS protection btw

I can think of few better things to sum up our choice than this:
According to CNN, Biden called the family of the Trump supporter who died. Trump didn't.

I am quite certain she will be forced out. Most Presidents choose a new Director when they assume office. She may not ladt that long. You know women and minorities that rise to the top very occasionally do so due to their own abilities. The SS has experienced failures, screwups, oversights, mistakes, forever. They have had their principals shot and shot at, had the WH shot, had tresspassers in the WH and on the grounds under both Rep and Dem administrations. Democrats did not ruin the SS. You should maybe gain a basis of knowledge before you post such gibberish. Was it bad for the agency when during the trump administration SS agents spent way too much quiet time with members of the trump family of the opposite sex they were supposed to be protecting? I can tell you it resulted in transfers of experienced (and handsome) agents who were replaced by less experienced agents.

Yeah, I have awareness of the reality. The narrative is what the left started voting on MSM even as the speech was going. As to who is being spoonfed, it might not be me. There were definitely trouble makers, very bad apples, in the group, many of whom left the President's speech while he was still talking. THOSE DID NOT HEAR WHAT YOU CLAIM INFLAMED THEM. They were there to cause trouble, no matter what the President said. You can not in good faith listen to everything he said (everything), and say it's bad because of what happened afterwards. Might as well blame Pelosi for turning down the request for additional troops beforehand. But of course you won't.

You mean the guy who was in the hospital after not quite dodging a bullet meant to kill him is bad guy because he didn't instantly call the family? That quote was from Monday's news cycle. Trump has a great and caring heart, and his first words after the hospital were towards the families of all the victims. I'm guessing he will invite them to the Convention, and make sure they know that though they lost a father, he will make sure they will never be in need of funds. That's who Trump really is. Stop hating. Like your guy for his policies, let others like their guy for his policies, and let the voters decide on which is better.

On which planet do local police not have a radio or way to connect to the SS and tell them there’s a threat to the former POTUS when you give them a 5 minute lead time? You all may not want to accept it, but somebody somewhere looked the other way. Most likely more than one person looked the other way while this dude got himself into position. Your point is valid. It should prove that somebody intentionally held off notifications.

Why did “the speech” happen? Why did a President who already lost an election, assemble a mob of supporters and utter the words “fight like hell or you won’t have a country anymore”. Why on that exact day? Did this have precedent in American History? Ponder those questions, then get back to me.

You realize that didn’t happen? Pelosi does not have that authority. This was another lie made up by Trump and parrotted by many dishonest liars as a talking point. In Trumps failure to act, it was actually Mike Pence who activated the guard some hours later.

Pence — not Trump — asked Guard troops to help defend Capitol on Jan. 6, panel says

It happens. In the incidence i have mentioned where an intruder made it into the WH residential atea the SS radios didn’t even communicate with one another and some were broken.
Before you get to far down the conspiracy highway ask yourself is this something that can be explained by incompetence, miss or bad communications, complacency, short-staffing, and erroneous assumptions. I think it is. .

Complacency explains police not notifying SS for 5 minutes there was a possible assassin they were tracking? Dude, they were talking about you when they said a sucker is born every minute.
