If I recall correctly, the Special Prosecutors in Watergate were confirmed by The Senate under a different law. Extending this ruling, every AUSA will have to be approved by the Senate. Which is why it will not stand l

Yes, this is a particularly perplexing case because of how clear cut is the violation. E.g. with the hush money case, I can see how it would be easy to refute its validity. The charge in that one is so convoluted that I am not even sure what the hell is going on there. By contrast, his treatment of these documents would be an obvious violation in kindergarten.

I haven't read the Order in full yet but did note where Cannon wrote on page 1 that, "[t]he effect of this Order is confined to this proceeding." I would be interested to know why she found that necessary and whether and to what extent her reasoning might be adopted and applied to other proceedings.

This will be appealed to the District court whose decision could be appealed to the SCOTUs who don’t get together again until October and they will slow play it like they did the immunity decision until trump is able to dismiss the charges against himself.
    What a country!
Come back JerseyGator. You were right all along. Corruption does rule - but why does it have to be so obvious?

Yeah, some people will just have to get over it. A bunch of talk about this case. A bunch of time wasted you’ll never get back. But don’t act like we didn’t try to warn you.

Right is right. Wrong is wrong. Ignoring criminality is wrong. You may have been raised differently.

this is why Trump appointed as many pro-Trump judges as possible...for moments like these
for someone who spends as much time in court as he does, it makes sense to have as many judges in his back pocket as possible

This "honest judge" was appointed after Trump lost the election and assigned to a courthouse with few other judges so she would likely be drawn for every Trump filed lawsuit or legal action against him. Trump has stated if she provides rulings he likes, she would be a likely candidate for a SCOTUS vacancy.

So oh yeah, totally honest.

Since you are hailing her following the law, why don’t you explain it and the legal reasoning of every federal appellate court and other judge except Justice Thomas who have reached the opposite result? If you can’t, you are just cheerleading.

There's nothing to explain, Judge Cannon gave the legal reasoning. I can't help it that the others choose to ignore the law. Now you're just pouting and playing ignorant.
You damn straight I'm cheerleading that this BS is being put to rest and our next President is ok even the wacko left tried to take him out

Law and order until law and order does something they don’t like. Then they move directly to riots. Lefty meltdowns are the best.

Not a surprising response at all but I applaud you for not simply ignoring my post. That said, the decision is an outlier. That you can argue that other courts— appellate courts— don’t follow that law but that Judge Cannon did— is not something you are qualified to say if you can’t explain the opinions. What is sad is that this man could steal classified documents— theft includes keeping them— and anyone would be happy that the case is “put to rest” in any way other than on the merits. And, the decisions giving a president immunity merely give him or her a license to commit crimes. They do not exonerate the conduct. It is sad and shameful it ever has to come to that. But that is how it has happened everywhere corrupters take power. You do know you are cheering a major shift of power from people to a centralized executive. It is often wildly popular until none day you wake up and you are their next target.
