I don't care if they get 1,000 yards a game, just so long as they don't score more that 14 points or so per game. I think our biggest issue the past several years is not creating enough turnovers. If we have 20-30 int's or fumble recovery's this year we are likely looking pretty good.

 

I hope some talent shows up because exes and hoes can lose football games, but they can’t really win football games

 

Interceptions come with pressure on the quarterback

 

He was simply hired to oversee the defense and the boss on that side of the ball

 

Where ever they come from we need more than 6 or 7 of them and more that a few fumbles recovered. I'm not sure the numbers but I am sure it's nowhere near the amount of turnovers we used to create.

 

If we get four times as many sacks, we will get four times as many interceptions also but if the quarterback can stand back there all day, he is not going to throw very many interceptions. Interceptions are thrown, not manufactured by playing good coverage.

 

Last season we had a thread that blew up to the sky about how Armstrong was the greatest hire in the history of hires (don’t bother searching, it was retitled when reality hit), now it’s Ron Roberts. I hope he’s the guy to turn the ship around. It’s been years since anyone in orange and blue intimidated anyone on the offensive side of the field so I’ll save my sunshine and rainbows until I see results in games that matter.

 

At least Robert has been in charge of an SEC defense before that was competent. He’s somewhat proven.

 

Hells yes, I'll take 4 times the sacks too. Strip fumbles comes from that too.

 

I don’t disagree with that, let’s see what he does for us.

 

He is our emotion and passion coordinator. Statistical improvement will be credited to Armstrong, passion and emotion to Roberts.

the Florida Gators need Ron Roberts to channel whatever emotion and passion he can into the defense. Granted, he will not call plays or change the scheme.

I'm not buying he took this job to be the cheerleader of the defense.

No one is. He’s the boss.

 

He will just make the gameplan and decide how the game will be called.

 

I like the hire. Roberts is a proven coach know to produce results.
Also, I noticed that Roberts has some resemblance to Wade Phillips (former NFL Coach)
