Not until someone else dies in these car assaults. Remember one car crash with deaths is not enough for even the state to put the hammer down.

Nothing is taken seriously until there are consequences. That’s the way everything works.

Seriously? UGA taking civic responsibility as something other than a complete joke?

It's so cute that some of you think this is the same game as 10 years ago. They're pros. Paid mercenaries. Who cares? There was little to zero morality then and there is not even pretense that it exists now that we've entered the pro era.

if the players are now "pros", the SEC should fine them several thousand dollars for this kind of activity, like the NFL does.

Perhaps seeing a teammate or an opponent coughing up $10,000 or more out of his NiL money to pay to the conference might act as a deterrent.

This should definitely be used for negative recruiting. Would you want your kid going there?

What do you mean Georgia IS taking this stuff very seriously. They have done their absolute best to keep it quiet, slow walk whatever they could, down play the continued feral behavior, trivialized the deaths of two people, likely bribed the police department (assuming they needed to), got a AJC reporter fired for bringing up the truth and handed out massive $26 fines for the wrong doers. Thats a lot of effort....Im sure they know how important controlling the narrative is and obviously it has been taken very seriously.

If I remember correctly, Kirby got a law passed by the GA legislature that allows universities to take as long as a year to respond to Freedom of Information requests. Great way to keep any potentially incriminating material buried.

Part of the reason they recruit so well is kids know they can do whatever they want in Athens-Clarke County. Speeding, DUI street racing sexual assault. Doesn't matter. I not sure but I don't think Trevor was in any trouble at UF. He's at UGA for a few weeks and look what happened. And he got away with that.

Nothing like being a year behind on the criminality. Lord knows how much mess will trickle out. Its like recording the UF/UGa game and waiting a year to watch it not knowing the results. Then when you finally watch it no one cares since it was decided a year ago and there is no way to fast forward this stuff because of Kirby's meddling and the complicity of the administration and police department. Most likely any police officer involved in this stuff was fired a year ago and their pension threatened if they talk about anything. It worked for Jimbo and FSU all the way to the NC.

Agree all the way on this response.

We can add that the NIL money in the players (not just UGA, but all schools) pockets are also a contributor to the off field and off campus misadventures. More money to buy cars, booze, broads, and whatever they fancy at any given moment.

Well Chip Towers published an article in Fridays AJC about the arrests. Towers is a bulldog through and through. But he better watch his back. The last time an AJC reporter wrote anything bad about the mutts, he was shown the door.
