Coach Walton is very particular about who he brings into his program. They have to not only have the skillset he's looking for, but the work ethic and the personality/attituded/approach that fits with what he's built inside his locker room. If Canady comes to Gainesville, you can bet that she's a fit in ALL ways and it won't be a problem in the locker room.
I love to hear that! I would love to have Canady but would hate to lose any of the pitchers. I want to see them reach their full potential. I think it takes a special locker room to bring Canady in.
I am! As a charter member of the Sunshine Pumper's Club, I'm already wondering what number she will select for her jersey. I'm also working night and day to learn to spell her first name correctly.
On Liv, she has the best changeup on the team. In the South Carolina series, I think she pitched two innings, if I recall. I saw three change ups in the 40s; there was one at 45 mph that was a strike out pitch. It made the Carolina batter look silly. I think if SVP works on her pitch placements, she will be a great reliever and eventual starter.
For the record, NiJaree was not lights out against Japan. She gave up 7 runs in 6.2 innings. She can be hit and scored upon by a good offensive team. Also Jocey was not her catcher. I guess it had something to do with “left handed” catchers prejudges by the USA coaches. Skylar was an offensive juggernaut with a 0.667 batting average with 2 HRs, 6 hits 3 runs and 2rbi in three games.
This is off a OU board. They're fans are so cocky about their program they think that roacha will greatly improve Canady because they thunk she greatly improved Maxwell. Maxwell was not different than she was at OSU. Canady can improve yes.... but greatly improve her spin rate..... I mean come on. Japan hit her yes. Japan is elite. Also canady needs to rest. She's had 0 break. "You have to think Canady was asking questions about Maxwell's arsenal of pitches and how Coach Rocha made an impact. I'm assuming OU also presented a game plan to greatly improve Nijaree's spin rates and strategies for attacking various types of hitters."
If anything being left handed has been advantageous. But Skylar deserves a national team spot. She is jsut a beast.
Every "homer" is checking in saying they've got a shot with Canady. Washington and Oregon. Nope. I doubt she wants to play in the Big Ten. Auburn. Nope....just simply nope. FSU...possible. UF....possible. OU...possible. Texas Tech? I just can't see that as realistic. Duke....possible. Stays at Stanford if they come up with money....possible. In any event, I doubt anything breaks on the UF front unless she has already put us in play because Tim is in Italy with the USA National team until after the World Cup ends on 7/20.
