By: Gentry Hawk -- July 11, 2024 The Florida Gators are seven weeks away from kicking off the 2024 season in the Swamp against the Miami Hurricanes, with a defense that consists of 17 new scholarship players that were added this offseason. The first group I’ll be breaking down is the cornerbacks, who I think have the potential to see big improvement compared to what we saw from them in 2023. The cornerback room consists of three new scholarship players, all of which could see the field in their first season as Florida Gators. Last season, the Gators had a total of seven scholarship cornerbacks compared to this year’s total of nine. Breaking Down Florida’s Cornerback Room | GatorCountry.com
dude, you were do so well with your articles reporting news and not venturing into Op/Ed territories. Please try to get back to "reporting".
In real-estate it's location... location... location. When it comes to defensive backs it's coaching... coaching... coaching. Did we get the right coaches and the right schemes to defend properly in the SEC? We shall see. I just hope we play as good as some have speculated we will this coming year.
Best CB room we have had in a long while. Jackson and Dijon last year and Grimsley and Corma I this year were recruited by most everyone
Jackson being a former receiver should have an edge when he gets on the field as a pass defender. His knowledge of routes and passing situations should give him and edge. McClain is the Dark Horse of the bunch. If he has the drive and raises his bar, he could end up being a contributor for this squad of defenders.
