I work with Pat, told him someone remembered him on Gator Country, he then told me the story of that 3x3 team (from SEVERAL years ago), they won a National Championship after winning city, state and regional championships. Ending up playing/winning a championship game in Hawaii (televised) against a team that had Daryl Dawkins, Adrian Dantley and 2 other ex-NBA players. He said the key was it was still early in the life of the 3 point shot and his team embraced it, most others didn't. You should have seen his eyes light up talking about it.

Pat Lawrence and his older brother Joe were very good players for the Gators. Pat was taller and more athletic, Joe was the better shooter.

 

Have a buddy that is a coach at IMG, guy was a D1 QB, played SS in the Tigers organization and now a golf pro in his mid 50s. He plays pickleball with Barry and said he is a beast even at age 80

 

Followed Pat and Joe back in their Crestview and of course UF days.

 

Didn't Tom Hammonds play with these guys and go to Georgia Tech?

Don't know if y'all keep up with Gator track & field, but Parker Valby made the U.S. Olympics team for the 10K run. She absolutely destroyed the SEC and NCAA fields this year, usually lapping many of her opponents, and is the first woman ever to win 5 Individual National Championships in a single season (cross-country, 3K indoor, 5K indoor, 5K outdoor, 10K indoor, 10K outdoor).

Nick and Scottie both making bank and have had long careers overseas. Parlayed UF career into millions abroad.

 

Okay...that game against Serbia was embarrassing.
The only decent player we really have is Maddox.
Canyon did not play very good and was outmatched.

 

Serbia is REALLY good.
