I think you are inserting your own beliefs and painting it as objectivity. It's fine to have your position, but it's far from a neutral stance. Biden staying in the race does not prove that the Democrats are engaging in realpolitik. It is very possible that there are not enough Democrats who genuinely think he can't handle job to oust him and the movement to replace him fails. How do you automatically get to it being the same as Republicans, who largely are not able to publicly criticize Trump? It is not the same.
I agree that Biden should not have been the nominee (said the same in '20). But what is the right thing to do now, because you indicated that any option would be wrong. I disagree that it's a no-win situation. Anything other than a Trump presidency is a win.
Bernie Sanders just had a great idea on how to judge Biden's cognitive ability. "Turn off the teleprompter." Sorry, Bernie, it ain't gonna happen.
Whiff post. If it were all about winning the dems would ignore the performance and move on. Happens in the GOP daily.
Another whiff. If it were all about winning the Dems would say it was just locker room talk and move on. I love how you disaffected righties like to act like the two parties are the same so you can still hold on to pieces of the GOP. It aint flying.
Increased from 6 to about ten but the original post implied that he was new and coming to the White House out of the blue.
It would be a game-changer for those stuck in the middle. Look at this Board, for example. There are scores who don’t want Trump, but don’t want a guy who is not expected to function. Not everyone is a Never-Trumper. There is a reason we have battleground states with still-to-won (or lost) voters in play. Put up a moderate and Trump might end up losing by another landslide.
Sure, all politicians embellish. But most try and base their comments Ina foundation of a truth and honesty. Trump lacks any such foundation.
Well Biden believe it or not is a moderate. The problem is he is too old for the job. Age is just a number but old is old.
He was the unified guy in 2020, but because of his age he ran in this implicit understanding that because of his age he as a one-termer, running to defeat Trump. Remember, he had already effectively retired before being pulled out of retirement in 2020. And,yes, age is just a number, but when your speech, posture, reactivity, and memory start to show the effects of age, it becomes more than a number, it is a disability — particularly for purposes of running a country.
Hasn’t been mentioned lately, but Biden has been caught multiple times recently reading the <end of quote> part from the teleprompter. Just add that to the list.
That’s your bias. He was right about the border. He was right about China. He was right about Iran. He has a better foundation than Fraudulent Joe.
I'm as old as Biden and even I could do a better job. On the debate: "It wasn't your night? I could have taken Trump apart. I could have had class, I could have been a contender, I could have been somebody, instead of a bum, which is what I am, let's face it."
Reference to On the Waterfront… one party wants to take us back to the 50’s a time when America was Great at corruption.
Or even a couple of weeks ago when he was still sharp as a tack. They hoped they could ride it out till November. They FAFO'd. The gig is up.
And some people think this will just "go away with time"... it's like pinning your hopes on Toonces the driving cat.
