In my opinion the SEC picked the correct Texas school to bring in first. Aggies tend to be genuine. I never felt like getting into a fight with an Aggie. They are weird, but genuine friendly. Shorthorns will sue you rather than fight you. Unfortunately the stars seemed to be lined up for them to make lot of noise in the SEC.
They have qbs and talent lined up. This is as good as they’ve been in a while. That other Manning never won shit in the SEC though so we will see. It’s a hard conference to win.
It doesn't help when their inaugural SEC season has them fielding a team with a shot at winning the conference right out of the gate. That will only feed their 'tude.
Over the long haul they will learn just how difficult the SEC is. It won't be like F$u and the acc back in the 90s's.
Let’s not forget that it isn’t even a given that they make it to conference play before getting a loss. They have to travel to Meatchicken in week two. They’re on the road versus all of their natural rivals in OU, ARK, and aTm. They also get to host us and UGA. The scheduling office almost gave them the full UF treatment.
This is where they lost respect from me. We don't bitch and moan when an opposing player gives the gator chomp on the field and they shouldn't either. They are going to learn that Bama/UGAG still holds sway over this conference and they aren't the top dog anymore.
They won't need much beef. Their home schedule is soft. Two losses at the very most (and maybe one or none). Here’s a look at Texas’ week-by-week schedule for this fall: Aug. 31: Colorado State Sept. 7: at Michigan Sept. 14: UTSA Sept. 21: Louisiana-Monroe Sept. 28: Mississippi State Oct. 12: Oklahoma Oct. 19: Georgia Oct. 26: at Vanderbilt Nov. 9: Florida Nov. 16: at Arkansas Nov. 23: Kentucky Nov. 30: at Texas A&M
They had a hard time winning the Big XII. Not sure how they are gonna win the SEC. Let them talk. We are similar to them in that we are the state school, but our fans are much rowdier. Their fans want you to sit down and be quiet.
Well, they're consistent if nothing else. Supposedly, that's how they handled "lesser programs" in the conferences they've helped drive into the ground over the last several decades.
Wait until they get to Baton Rouge and the fans start shaking their bus. They will require LSU to supply them with a team of counselors, spot them 7 points and assess a 15 yard penalty on the opening kick off.
I don't know, their schedule looks pretty manageable to me. No Bama, ole Miss, Tenn, LSU or even Auburn. They did draw Vandy tho. . As for Georgia, I will be rooting for the horns in that one.
Yep. For the Last game of the season to kick them out of the playoffs. Welcome to the SEC bitches, from a team they disdain and has male cheerleaders who claim yelling as a skill.
It wouldn't bother most of us that much when other teams do the Gator chomp if the refs didn't call penalties on us when our guys do it. If it's unsportsmanlike for our players to do a Gator chomp, it should be unsportsmanlike for the opposing teams to do a mock Gator chomp back at us, too.
Actually I bitch about it a great deal...particularly when its an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty when a Gator player does it but the other teams have carte blanche to do it to their heart's content.
Big ask for UF to follow UGA with Texas on the road. But the opportunity awaits! A Napier W in Austin would be sweet!
