Apologies if already posted. The President of the Heritage Foundation said this about Project 2025.

Project 2025 leader promises 'second American Revolution'

We are in the process of the second American Revolution, which will remain bloodless, if the left allows it to be."

(you know where to put the cork).

Sounds like something a rapist would say to their victim. Do not resist or I'll make it worse for you. Or what Russia might say to Ukraine. Do not resist, you can have peace if you let us have our way with you. Anyone ok with this part of the GOP platform?

Guy declared himself an enemy combatant in a war.

President Biden needs to “officially” send him to Gitmo. Supreme Court should be cool with it.

So Trump is clearly scared of the political fallout from P2025 as he posted on Truth Social this morning that he'd never heard of it. And also that he disagreed with a lot of it. Try to square that circle.

However, his sentiment doesn't quite square with reality:

Whenever I see things like this, I think of Julius Caesar.
He is famous for a lot of things, but the important thing is that when he got to the Roman senate there had been nearly five hundred years of democratic rule in Rome. By the time he died he had almost single-handedly turned it into a one man empire, and true democracy never returned to Rome before their ultimate fall.
Folks that think it can’t happen here and so aren’t vigilant about it are as dangerous as those trying to subvert it. And for those that see it through a partisan lens, imagine someone you disagree with politically doing things like this. Because if this is normalized next time it could be.

Donald is flat-out lying again. What's his count of "alternate facts" -- has he hit 40,000 yet?

Yes, he is lying. Sad that his lies are so common and frequent they pass us by as normal. Several of the architects of Project 2025 are current or former trump administration or campaign employees.

The American Left: "Career bureaucrats shouldn't be answerable to the voters."
Also the American Left: "Trumpublicans are trying to overthrow our Democracy."

so you favor elections for the SC?

so, the party that gets the most votes should make these appointments?

I assume SC is Supreme Court. I'm not sure about elections there are definitely ways to make it more accountable to the voters. I definitely think lifetime appointments are a problem and, also, judicial review is not in the constitution.

Forget appointments, just do away with the positions altogether and don't stop with 50,000 either.

Heck we could cut more than 10 times that from the military alone. Did you know we have 11 aircraft carriers? Complete insanity

So, the alternative is a pure democracy where the entire electorate votes on every issue. Does anyone really want that on a national level regarding environmental regulations for example? As stated, the buffoons in congress aren't really in a position to micro manage that either. e.g. some legislator in Rhode Island writing regs for Wyoming or Alaska? They probably can't find either on a map.

So, EVERY issue needs to be decided by the governent. And not just any government they all need to be decided by the FEDERAL government. Is that what you're saying?
