imo she helped win the 2020 vote. But she was an awful dem candidate. She had a brief period she had one brief bump after her big gotcha in the debate w Biden. But she generally had bad numbers and she polls as unpopular now.
The reverend Billy Sunday had these authentically held beliefs wrt prohibition. "The reign of tears is over. The slums will soon be a memory. We will turn our prisons into factories and our jails into storehouses and corncribs. Men will walk upright now, women will smile and children will laugh. Hell will be forever for rent." the number of incarcerated people in the USA increased 561% during prohibition. but, but, they're authentic
At this point, we could draw straws from random folks on the streets of anytown USA and it would be a better option. Or maybe a good spittin' contest. I'm up for whatevs.
I don’t think she would win because she’s an unlikable black woman and Biden’s shortcomings can by extension be blamed on her because she is part of his admin. I think a relatively unknown candidate would be best. Having said that I’d roll the dice with Kamala if that’s what it comes down to. She has a better shot than Joe.
I’m not sure where this went off the rails… the am extremely conservative but not a republic can. I am strongly against abortion as has been stated on this site many times I actually applaud you for your beliefs. However, how you present yourself, how you argue for or against with others is all anyone has to go on on this board. You are aggressive, name calling, and extremely one sided. A cheerleader to the extreme… just like Jo. I do t care if politically and ideologically we are on the same aisle. If all you can do is rant and rave and rail against he other side of our nation.. you are a cheerleader And for the record, the very first post I made that you quoted was not in any way directed at you. But apparently you seemed to think it was and took to the offensive.
Ah…I misinterpreted who your first post was aimed at. When the OP starts a thread about what your thoughts are about X Democrat candidate if you are a conservative, that is an invitation to discuss that topic. When I state a fundamental belief about a candidate, a party, and what it means to vote for them that is my fundamental belief. I don’t believe there is any meaningful difference between the 3rd reich and the DNC. They inhabit the same moral plane. That is a fundamental belief I hold. Stating it is not mean. Stating that is not aggressive. There is no nicer way to say it. That is the most crystal clear expression of my POV that I can possibly think of that explains why I will never vote Democrat absent some titanic shift in the DNC platform. If that offends, then it is the belief that offends. We should be able to call a spade a spade when we are discussing politics. Also “modern child sacrifice” is what abortion is. Ancient societies sacrificed their babies to pagan deities for rain, prosperity, and blessings. The motivations for abortion are eerily similar today. The fundamental reasons people kill their babies are still the same today as it was thousands of years ago. “Child sacrifice” is therefore an accurate description of what abortion is. It is the choice to sacrifice another human being for some kind of selfish personal benefit. That is not name calling. It drives to the heart of what abortion fundamentally is.
Calling abortion “modern child sacrifice” and equating fetuses to babies is hardly the mark of intelligent discourse or rational thought.
Agree, maybe she would have and maybe she wouldn't. But do you really think those who are focused the most on her affair with Brown in the '90s are really just concerned about whether 'her political opportunities came about because of having sex ...?' And not simply partisanship ship? That said, she has been far from inspiring as a VP. Though as others have pointed out, what VP has been? She needed to be far much more of a force, I think, to be considered for the top spot.
It may have real consequences but for a VP it requires zero thought, effort or skill. Unless you think saying “AYE” with your party requires any of those things. We can teach a 1 year old to say AYE.
Actually she has been quite vocal on women's issues, abortion, IVF, healthcare, etc. She is far better at delivering that message than Biden is.
If Willie Brown managed to get her elected to DA in San Francisco, AG of California, U.S. Senator, and Vice President, one has to wonder why he didn't do more for himself. But I get the point. Maybe he gave her a leg up at the start of her career. We're Americans. We prefer self-made men and women, like George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush, and Jeb Bush; Mitt Romney; Donald Trump; John F. Kennedy; and Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
Negative. I cheerlead for nobody. Just against support for an un-American criminal traitor. And the criminal organization that has abandoned all morals to lie for him. To be honest, it's shocking to me that, well, everyone isn't the same. You though, well your judgement has led you to find no fault with an organization that is 100% committed to supporting a traitorous criminal. It's not that it's my job to call you out, so I do so rarely. But find your own peace with that.
Pre-Nazi Germany was overwhelmingly a Christian country. 54% Protestant and 41% Catholic. Not only did Christians (on the whole) not stop or flee that whole 3rd Reich scenario, we can only conclude many actively partook in the atrocities.
Interestingly the Roman Catholic Church helped a number of Nazis the most prominent among them was Adolf Eichmann escape to Argentina after the war to avoid justice. Red Cross and Vatican helped thousands of Nazis to escape The Real Odessa: Smuggling the Nazis to Peron's Argentina Operation Eichmann. Adolf Eichmann was captured in Argentina on May 11, 1960
