Joe Biden's frantic team gets ABC to push up crucial interview (msn.com) Chaos or desperation or both reign in the Biden camp. "The White House is frantically moving to get President Joe Biden in front of cameras and crowds on an expedited schedule this July 4th weekend after growing calls from within his party to step down after his debate disaster. Biden's handlers had already put in place a taped, sit-down interview with ABC's George Stephanopoulos to try to fend off calls from lawmakers and donors to demonstrate that he is still up to the task of campaigning. But after a Wednesday meeting with the nation's governors that failed to quell mounting calls for his ouster from the Democratic ticket, ABC announced hour later that the entire interview will air in one shot, days earlier. The full interview will now air in prime time on Friday night – giving Americans their first extensive look at the president in a Q&A format since Biden trailed off, rattled off odd phrases, and appeared to lose his train of thought repeatedly during Thursday's debate with Donald Trump." LOL .... I wonder how much editing will occur with this "taped, sit-down interview with ABC's George Steph".
It would be interesting for their convention to go back to the old days of actually selecting the candidate. Nowadays, it’s merely ratifying the primary system. I’m listening to the book recommended about the Chernobyl disaster. The Soviet decision-making process was geared mostly to maintaining the status quo and maintaining the appearance that everything was OK. It seems like the Democratic party might be stuck in something similar.
so frustrating. like everyone shouldn’t believe what we saw last Thursday?? Which was THE specific concern? And it was worse than expected.
It's all the people pulling the Biden strings that would lose power. That's who's trying to force this square peg into a round hole, at this point.
There is no recovery. This is like when the cops ask you to do stuff during a traffic stop. They will never come to court and talk about how impressive you were. But if you mess up, that will be the whole testimony. Biden will absolutely lose.
Agreed. As POTUS, you pretty much need to be on your game during all your waking hours. And be available to be awoken during sleeping hours when a crisis hits.
I will vote for Literally Dead Joe if I am forced too. However, just being pragmatic, you can’t blame a person who won’t. And the D’s expect non-zealots (and I consider myself a zealot, for the time being) to vote for a guy who can’t show up for the big game? It’s typical D shitshow stuff. They have found the only two candidates out of a million options that can blow these layups.
pretty much my exact sentiments. Hopefully if the dems get completely shellacked they can use it as a moment to do some serious soul searching and clean house.
How much of a house will be left to clean? That’s the problem. This isn’t GWB, who I actually did vote for once (my bad) or BHO, who I also voted for once. Otherwise I never voted for a D or R, before Trump. Now I vote D at every level. Typically I am not concerned about the Whole Idea of America. Gore, eh, woulda worked. Romney, eh, woulda worked. McCain, eh, woulda worked. Etc. R’s won’t make the RBG mistake either. They’ll shitcan at least two and replace them with Cavanaugh level geniuses. Hard to conceive of worse than Thomas, but it is sadly easy. Alito will also be pastured. And it’s over. Just like all the other 1984isms, “lawfare” is the current R accusation. Because that is exactly the plan. Once you have FIVE partisan appointed lifers who literally control all of society working backwards from predetermined conclusions, the game is won.
Election 2024: Biden’s Verbal Stumbles in Spotlight as He Hosts July 4 Events More stumbles more excuses.
Anthony Bernal has pretty much been running the office of potus and has told Jill that Joe is staying in the race. Bernal wants to be potus for another term.
I can’t disagree. If I’m being honest, Biden was a horrible candidate in 2020, but he still beat Trump. And I say horrible candidate because he rarely mingled with the public and everything was so scripted. So I agree with you that lots of other Democratic candidates would likely have beaten Trump in this upcoming election. I think they could have re-ran Hillary in 2020 and she would have won a close race.
They're probably just setting it up where no one can claim they didn't give Biden a chance to redeem himself. But his candidacy is over. Having to hold a conference call to re-assure all the state governors that he's "capable" and having that reported in open media is a torpedo to his chances as well and they know this.
Ammar Moussa, a spokesman for Mr. Biden’s campaign, criticized the news media for making note of the president’s stumbles. “It was clear what President Biden meant when he was talking about his historic record, including a record number of appointments to the federal bench,” he said, referring to the president’s comments about being a Black woman. “This is not news and the media has passed the point of absurdity here.” The comment that was supposedly “clearly” about how many federal judges he had nominated was him saying that he was proud to have been “the first Black woman to serve with a Black president.”
Happy to help reconcile the apparent discrepancy here... Dems view Trump as evil incarnate, and have sold their collective souls to commit to his demise. At. All. Costs. Trump has become the Left's True North, in the sense that destroying him, is their no. 1 priority and value, and has been for like 8 years. When Doh! Biden was exposed as incapable (long easily seen, but hidden by MSM bc he was believed to be the anti Trump, since he'd beatenTrump b4), he was since betrayed bc the polls were showing he was losing. The debate merely provided the 'out'. Pubs in contrast, see the Left as the incarnation of evil, and Trump as the battle ground upon which Left (wrong) v Right is best fought, since he is the focus of their ire. It's actually pretty convenient. The Left loathes Trump so deeply, all their efforts are focused on him, rather than us (like the matador's cape)--and he's willing to take the hits, and fight back. Hence the reconciliation comes into clear focus when you view it from what folks loathe the most. Dems = Trump; Pubs = Leftism* NB: Leftism* = enviro fascism, omnipotent government, wokism, globalism, anti Americanism, gender bending, and anti God. Hope that helps.
No, it doesn't help. In fact, I think it's the opposite... that Republicans see Trump as a savior and have sold their collective souls to commit to his elevation. At. All. Costs.
But Trump is an old man. Here today, gone tomorrow. The principles broken to destroy him, have compromised the integrity of our system of governance. Support for Trump is by definition, transitory and temporary, as it is tied to a mortal, and when he expires, so does whatever he stood for. It goes with him. Lawfare, attacking the SCOTUS for doing their job, talking about 'stacking the courts' to fix Trump, the unelected intelligence community directly manipulating info to manipulate elections ( you know....that *non-existent deep state* that outed itself plainly due to Trump, but we're supposed to pretend is mere myth...-FBI deploying a #$%@% "insurance policy", CIA and FBI lying to FB, Twitter, etc, signing a bullshit letter to promote a bald face lie...)... These things will have a mu h deeper and longer lasting impact; they will not just leave scar tissue, but a festering cancerous precedent that will serve as template for how futures battles will be waged, and won... That's far more toxic, than backing an uncoothe, ugly, old, toady orange dude who mean-Tweeted rudely, and who will, in due course...die. The deep state, corrupt in the tank media, and the toxic tactics, will survive as legacy. The template has been set, and it wasn't Trump who set it--it was the vehemently rabid TDS inflicted anti-Trumpers, who have compromised the integrity of the system. C'est la vie.
