A server migration exercise last week in Tally is preventing hospitals, funeral directors and families from obtaining certs.
No eta on when the system will be fixed.
Right up there with the years-long problems with Access FL Unemployment Claims.
But by all means, let's focus on woke issues instead of performing basic government functions.
    We deserve better!

Covering up a hack or data breech?

Not sure why the department would go radio silent when posed questions about what is going on with a critical system like that. I’d say the refusal to say something is most concerning.

You've got that right. May need to go back to paper issuance.

Seems to have been planned to go down.. but was planned to come up.. it hasnt. I swear IT folks just wing it. "Lets see what happens if we do this", then they fix everything that broke. What an industry. Causing real problems in families.

Birth, death certificates affected by Florida health system outage (tampabay.com)

Last week, a state employee sent an email to users of the state’s electronic birth and death registration systems alerting them of “storage migration” work Thursday from 6 p.m. to midnight, during which the system wouldn’t be accessible.

But on Friday, people were still having trouble accessing the system. At around 8 p.m. on Friday, the state sent an email to the death registration system users saying the online system was unavailable and directing them to paper forms to “assist with continuing services offline.”

Cecelia Lawson, a licensed funeral director with Lawson Funeral Home in St. Petersburg, said the online system being down has been an added stress for the business and its clients.

Lawson mentioned a Muslim family that came in Tuesday needing a death certificate signed the same day so they could complete the burial in line with their religious customs.

The fact that they can’t simply revert back speaks to really bad IT management. Every competent release has a back out plan.

All those nativist chuds with the “FLO Grown” on their pickup when asked by an employer or school for proof documentation of their birth. “Sorry, the system is down for maintenance”. :emoji_joy:

    Beautiful.

Our family has been waiting for certificates of death, and they've said it's based on the autopsy. That may still play a role but now I'm wondering.
