I bet a vast majority of those who say that won’t vote for a woman vote republican, and if faced with a woman republican vs a democrat they’d vote for the republican.

while some mainly men may not vote for a woman, some women may be more likely to vote for another woman.

Again, Obama and Hillary won the popular vote.

I said it’s a factor - not THE factor. Or even the most important factor. But it’s a very real disadvantage for anyone who isn’t a white male christian.

With regards to my shit hole country comment - the truth hurts bud. I’ll stop saying it the moment this country stops slipping backwards. Trump is literally destroying this country and it looks like it’s about to get a LOT worse. So you can lie to yourself if you like but tough titty if you find my “shtick” offensive.

I am as upset by most of this bullshit as you. But I haven’t given up yet. It apparently hasn’t dawned on you that your message is basically the same as Trump’s - saying how bad our country is, albeit for different reasons

When people use such rhetoric it basically says things are so bad whatever we have isn’t worth saving, and change should come at whatever costs.

I just listened to a podcast a couple of weeks ago interviewing Gretchen Whitmer. My guess is a ticket of her and Josh Shapiro would wipe the floor with Trump. But we won’t do it, because we don’t want to offend Biden and Harris, and as a result will likely get Trump.

l_boy did say the shithole country thing was repetitive, not offensive. I’m not offended by it, though I do think it doesn’t add much to the conversation, as “shithole” is a judgment rather than a description. For every place in the world, no doubt someone finds it a shithole. Also, I’m always wondering how best to think of a country as an entity. Even an individual person contains multitudes. One person might give to charity, cheat on their taxes, volunteer at the local hospice, covet their neighbor’s spouse, be a great listener, and play loud music at the beach. Is this a shithole person?

Further, these judgements are necessarily relative, so we have to ask, a shithole compared to what? China? Colombia? South Africa? 1970s America? It’s tough to find a definitive list of nations with black female leaders, but this list appears short and confined to African nations with majority black populations. Nations are made up of humans, and humans are fraught with bias, so no nation can be immune.

I know it’s tough for us who can see a better future to tolerate a present that pales in comparison. However, I think it’s also good to use other comparisons from time to time for perspective. Compared to us today, 1776 USA was a shithole, but compared to what was going on in other places at the time, it wasn’t so bad.

We have a new entrant for the dumbest Too Hot post hall of fame.

Because the current president has a close circle of most trusted advisors, that group is actually running the country.

I'd like to know which president going back in history had no such circle. I'll sit here and wait patiently for an answer.

"Dictator Biden has a Russian-style oligarchy to run the country as he is incapable of being a real president. Those named as running the country along with Dictator Biden:"

Trumpian projection for sure! He just doesn't realize it. :)

"a Russian-style oligarchy". Oh please. Obviously you don't know the first thing about the power structure in Soviet-land. Their guy has a tight circle of top intel and security men who would scare your jorts off. So the analogy is JUST PLAIN DUMB.
Trump will surround himself with the likes of Steven Miller and Kash Patel and other such sterling, puppy-like, civic minded people. You do recall that Miller was the one responsible for the 2016 American carnage inauguration speech, right? You don't think that's a problem?
GW Bush had Dick Cheney running things. Ronnie had Lee Atwater, the Dons and Nancy covering up his dementia. All were the supporting cast behind "the guy at the top."
Do you only bloviate when the subject is Dem administrations?
    Y'all just make me laugh.

Very fortunate. That way you don’t have to take any of their criticisms seriously.
