The only alternative is Kamala Harris. I'd have no issue with her being the pick if Biden stepped down for health reasons. But the same people who are adamant about replacing him will undoubtedly whine about her. And then we'll get the fun of hearing months of sexist and racist comments, instead of the cracks about Biden's old age.

 

The main complaint I've heard about Kamala is her laugh. I guess people aren't supposed to find things so funny.

I think you are correct that Harris is the most logical and practical choice this late in the process for the reasons you stated above.

 

Plus people are concerned with the border crises and she was able to get to the root cause of it, or at least that’s what she said she was going to do several years ago on her dog and pony visit

I think Biden selfishly decided to run again when he knew Trump was the candidate thinking people would be so repelled by Trump and would eventually see that the economy is going in the right direction. He has underestimated the concern most people have over his age. I dont think his debate performance swung anyone away but I do think it was a missed chance to move the fence sitters which are many. He'll need some serious health issue to get him out I am guessing. I really dont see what, at his age, he needed from 4 more years of this shit.

Agreed, not suggesting Trump will be in the WH for life, but his hand picked successors will keep it rolling. At least that is the plan.
