Manage your own absurd, asinine expectations, and leave the rest of us alone; we'll get along just fine without you.
I agree with this. All this “building” but we’re looking at another losing season. More like building a loser.
That was about as stupid a statement as I’ve ever heard from Mr. Taipan. Really makes me wonder how an otherwise intelligent person could make a statement like that.
With all the great work CBN has done rebuilding our program it would be a shame to see it cut short before we reap the fruits of his labor. Some of the posters here are out of touch with reality. Napier took over a program that had poison running through its veins, broken relationships with high school coaches, (thank you Dan), and coming in at the worst possible time in the history of college football because of the introduction of NIL and the portal. What a monstrous job to undertake. He’s made a few mistakes, particularly in coaching hires but has addressed them immediately, unlike Mullen. He is going to get it right if given time. But in this world of instant gratification, time is not always available. Norvelle at FSU is brought up often on Swamp Gas. He has achieved a bit of success through the portal but living out of the portal will not always work: even with the ridiculously easy schedule his team faces every year. I can’t stand it when that little weasel is compared to our coach. He couldn’t carry Napier’s jockey strap in my book. We do need to show improvement on the field this year and we will. But remember that we have a tough schedule and everyone we play is going to be as motivated to beat us as we are to beat them. Let’s look for improvement: not freaking miracles. That’s going to happen a tad later.
I may be wrong, and can always look back, but I think this is the guy who was, perhaps, angriest that Mullen was fired so would not like anyone who followed him and is still riding that horse.
Would be nice if for the next 60 something days we could focus on positive aspects of the upcoming season instead of beating that same old negative drum as that poster is doing..can't we at least wait and see how the first few games go instead of already dismissing the season and program as a losing one...
I wish the admins would put a few on total ignore so no one has to see it and they can mumble to themselves
Gatorrick22 said: "And the appearance of tampering or sabotage by our last group of coaches made it seem nearly impossible for Napier to keep all of the best players left over from last coaching staff." This should never, never be forgotten! There was definitely some strong discord between the defensive coaches...DURING the season! And Napier had to fight through all of THAT!
Okay, I had to sign out just to see the clowns monikers and what they were posting. I thought it was just one clown, but now I see who they were. LMFAO! It's no wonder why I ignored them. There are always those kinds of people trying to put their negative stank on other people here.
There is a global ignore backend feature and the beauty of it is they're not banned and possibly reappear as another user. Instead they post crap only they see and no one else sees so no one ever responds to. Turns them into the terminally ignored as they should be.
And Rick... As it has been repeatedly said before on this board... The LAST thing that the rest of the SEC wants to see is: "The Re-emerging Giant That Is Called, Florida Football." Rival posters will say anything to shrill out negativity, gloom and discord. Anything... They don't want Florida to get back to those days where we are putting out divisional and SEC Champions. And then, sadly, we have those short-sighted, negative, glass half empty fans who are walking Eyores! Could one imaging being married to one of these!
Oh you know that's for sure, DeBigLeezard. Even way back when Bear Bryant was coaching Bama the SEC knew that.
I’m not saying that either. Maybe Napier is building a winning program. I hope so. We will see. But the post I replied to was yet another that seemed imply that this year doesn’t count, and we need to continue to have the patience in Season 3 that is reasonable to expect in Season 1. No. It is show-me time. I want to start seeing some ROI this season. No more excuses.
You seem to be suggesting that we keep a guy even if he turns in a third straight losing season, based on blind faith but zero evidence that he is the guy to turn around this trend of defeat. I don’t see how my words approach the stupidity of that. Napier has got to prove he’s the guy this season, or he needs to find something else to do. I’m not backing off that, and I’m not going to stop challenging posters who want to gift him an unearned fourth season even if this one reeks as badly as the last two.
