So this pops up two days after the debate? Like everyone has forgotten that Dems want Biden off the ticket…

This has the eerie feel of another Romney “Binders of Women” manufactured “issue”. Gotta hand it to the Dems, they can make anything into a crisis. They know the race mongers in the party are not about to give up their golden goose and all the money they make off this bullshit, so things like this get them excited, just like the feminists in 2012z

Well the show is getting old as the working and middle class ignore the stats the democrats cherry pick and spew, knowing full well that they’ve taken it in the shorts. I think many are wondering how that feeble old fool from Thursday managed to get it up enough to hurt like it has?

This is not true for a whole variety of reasons. First, many immigrants are themselves black. It is obviously insulting to assume otherwise, as you do (likely without even realizing it). Second, immigration into a country with a labor shortage, like the US right now, does not result in jobs being lost. In fact, immigration leads to more jobs existing. Which is why, despite all of the whining about immigration, Black unemployment has decreased from 9.3% when Biden came into office to 6.1% in the latest year.

The notion that you are pushing relies on an assumption that I doubt you even realize that you are making: that demand for labor is constant. That is, of course, nonsense, and, indeed, labor is partially a function of population. Immigration increases population, increasing the need for labor. When the country is in a labor shortage, as it has been for the past couple of years, there is no evidence of substitution under this set of circumstances.

    Well said sir.

I have my issues with Trump but cannot ignore the fact that his policies, other than deficit spending were sound.

The man gives people plenty of reason to criticize him, but what has gone on for the last 8 years goes way beyond criticism.

I do not buy the BS that this behavior is only because of Trump. This is just the W treatment on steroids

How do you figure black workers are losing jobs under Biden’s policies? The numbers are that that they’ve fully recovered from the pandemic, and actuality achieved a new all time low under Biden before settling back up to 6.0%. Still in a very healthy place today (just as the entire jobs market is still pretty well labor constrained). Not sure how that argument is supposed to fly.

It’s also an odd assertion to suggest migrant workers and illegals are taking “black jobs”. Again, the natural question is “what is a black job???”. We know migrants mostly take manual labor type jobs, so the inference obviously would be that these are the jobs you think black *Americans* should be doing. I don’t think it’s racist to say those are the jobs new immigrants should be doing, because that’s sort of how every immigrant group regardless of nationality has started out. It’s not racist to say migrants are very likely to work in agriculture or construction labor. But when one is talking purely in race terms (not immigrant status), there’s definitely a racist tinge to “black jobs” or “hispanic jobs” because it suggests based on race that this should always be their true place on society. Doing hard labor, and that illegals (not white Americans) are their competition. Maybe it’s too big an ask to expect you to get this distinction or why it’s 100% racist. If there was any doubt we only have to look at the contemptible clowns that help set his policies or actively attack companies trying to reach into inner city communties (people like Stephen Miller and Bannon).

    What policy?

Guy literally accomplished nothing for 3 years, a tax hike that doubled the deficit and slightly boosted an already strong economy. Then in his last year bungled the pandemic, decided a little more foreign interference was a good thing, and what the hell let’s try an autogolpe too! Brilliant.

Biden at least got an infrastructure bill and Chips Act passed and has done much more on the healthcare front. The infrastructure is long term money that will probably be straight up looted Russian style if Trump gets in again.

The most laughable moment of that debate to me was when Trump claimed to have the cleanest air in history during his term. As if Mr “let them burn coal” did anything for clean air. Yet, I recall the half truth that was surely the source of that complete bs. There was a period during the peak of economic shutdown when vehicular traffic was down 90%, and we did measurably have the cleanest air in decades (just as much of the globe experienced the same). I was amused that this was the one “my administration was the bestest ever” vapidness that at least had a half truth behind it. So this is what he took credit for: a public health and economic catastrophe so bad it temporarily cleaned our air. :emoji_joy:

I heard him say it and immediately was like “oops”. Even Contra admits it jumped out to him. Whatever network I was watching had a black guest, and this person immediately after the debate pointed that as something that jumped out, she also expressed dismay with Biden’s performance BTW. So I don’t think it’s “manufactured”. I’d say it got overshadowed by Biden’s horrible performance.

I’d say this is par the course with Trump, so not sure it is a huge controversy. At this point people expect that racist garbage from Trump. It reminds me of one of my favorites from (I think) 2016 where he staged a photo of himself eating a taco bowl with the caption “I love the Hispanics”. :emoji_joy: It’s about on that level. Either cleverly trying to be racist, or moron level closet racism. Can’t decide which. But at least the taco one was amusing.

Specifically, NBC News and the NAACP. It's a hit job. The OP stated he has no links to anything else. Of course he doesn't. It's not all-over social media. This is going on and will increasingly be done because Trump is getting way more support from blacks in the polls than in 2020. Unfortunately for the democrats, those are increasing numbers to boot.

What is all over the internet is the shockingly poor job Biden did in the debate, that Biden took a big hit in the snap polls in the aftermath of the debate, questions of who is running the country as Biden obviously is not capable of doing so, and media demands, see the NY Times, that Biden step down from running for president.

Creating a racist Trump narrative isn't going to work though. Trump went to the Bronx. Trump went to black churches in Detroit. Trump has a plan, did in his first term too, to create more jobs in large city black enterprise zones. This was actually working as blacks had historically low unemployment when Trump was president. I was surprised when Trump didn't receive higher levels of the black vote in 2020. Looks like he will get it on a delayed basis in 2024.

What do the democrats have to run on? It can't be their terrible record. It has to be against Trump the racist, Trump the traitor, Orange Man Bad, and Mr. Mean Tweets. You name it, but it has to be something negative about Trump. The lamestream media and internet companies like Google through censorship will do their very best to get Biden, anybody except Trump, elected.

Actually, that is a in one NBC News article source.

No, I don't usually do listening, mainly reading or YouTube. The last person I would spend time listening to was Rush Limbaugh. Did you ever listen to Rush?

The proposition itself is debatable. Trump could be wrong about it, but that is a completely different question than "Did Trump make a racist comment?"

    From "100% true" to "debatable."

BTW, it is not "completely different." They are related questions. If you start from the notion that a job belongs to a race, and it is somehow being stolen by an immigrant, that raises questions as to both the truthfulness of the comment and the motivation, especially when the comment isn't true.

At least this is something Trump actually said, in context ... remember the lies Pubs spread about "you didn't build that"?

It absolutely was a “racist” comment in the context it was delivered.

I don’t think it was necessarily a hateful comment, but rather a thing he said without thought because of his inherent nature.

A follow up certainly would have been interesting “what do you mean a black job”?

I’m surprised that when Trump utters the word “black”
That everyone doesn’t scatter like cockroaches
And to be honest if you aren’t voting for Biden you aren’t black…
And Biden knows that the Latinos (whom he often called latinax) unlike the black community has a very diverse culture.

Trump has a history of being racists. That’s why it’s a good think Biden doesn’t say racist things, never hung out and was pals with segregationalist, never referred to black males as predators. Nope his score card is super super squeaky clean.

No kidding. It’s hardly a major thing, and with history as a guide he’ll say something equally dumb the next day that ends in Y.

Even when he said it in real time, our reaction was “did he really say that” then the very next thing was “eh, doesn’t matter”. :emoji_joy:
