Let's be honest. Biden last night looked like he belonged in a nursing home. We already know who Trump is.

And if she loses, she's a spent force, like Hillary.

I don’t think Biden needs to step down from the presidency. He just needs to claim age related health issues are making campaigning on top of being president untenable and formally suspend his re-election campaign. The Dems nominate someone under 70 and take it from there. No need to make Harris president, IMO.

To be fair, there is no better nursing home for round the clock care than the White House, but that's probably more of an indictment of our elder care system

That might be true, but the patient is not up for the job for another 4 years. Having to choose between that and Trump sucks.

The issue is that if you were going to nominate somebody without a primary, she is the next logical choice and there could be serious issues bypassing her. You have to create a scenario where she doesn't look bypassed or insulted.

You don't even have Harris on the list? Democrats need the AA vote to have a chance. She's VP and you are going to just omit her?

I know she's as incompetent as Trump or Biden but you have to win the race.

it would be EZ if she plays along. Biden drops out, she sez she’s interested in Cali gov in 2026

Sure, but I doubt she is interested in a lower position. Pretty much two positions are an upgrade to VP, President and USSC. And there is no vacancy in the court right now.

seems she may want the highest position that she has a chance of winning….or give her a promise of AG or SOS…the cal gov ploy is the out. No need to actually run

I view that as a lot lower probability. Politicians don't move down without trying to move up.

    Her 2 options are:
Lose the election, lose clout & goodwill with the party.

find a way out & have the party owe you a tremendous debt

    Remember wanting ain’t getting

Whether you or I think those are the options, politicians are generally overconfident enough to think that they can win an election. And, honestly, she would probably prefer to try and lose than not try and get demoted.

Also, it’s not really her call. Her only choice may be how she wants to play along.

Again, worst case scenario is a mess at the convention. All that takes is multiple people to run (which is her call). Like I said, best way to avoid this is to find something she actually wants. Doubt CA Gov would do it.

They either get their shit together and run a viable candidate or hand it to Trump on a silver platter ( which may already be the case).

Maybe they can just pay her an obscene amount of money to take one for the team and make this easy.

My plan would be to have her as President for a short period and then set her up with a massive foundation that she could use to do whatever she wants (within the law). Alternatively, you could offer her USSC next time that come up (less attractive to me, but if she prefers it, sure).

BTW, it should be noted that there is still a better than 50% chance that none of this happens, Biden stays on the ticket, and he tries to recover the damage at other debates and the convention. I just actually think there is a chance because the people that matter are worried now.
