    Now? It’s 8am in Sorrento and I’m going for a walk. I picked the right time to not have a TV in my ship’s cabin.

    Maybe the better question is, what does MAGA do now?

    HUGE mistake agreeing to the debate this early.

    Trumps best chance of winning was to face Biden, he may now have lost it.

    The 2 most likely scenarios:

    Both Trump and Biden are the nominees and Trump wins

    Democrats replace Biden and that candidate wins.

    Democrats have an easy path to victory if they are willing to actually take it. Republicans just have to hope democrats stay the course.

    One more than one occasion going back several months James Carville made the observation (paraphrasing) that any competent Democratic candidate in his or her mid '50s could easily defeat Trump. I suspect that if the Democrats do replace Biden with another candidate Trump would refuse to debate him or her.

    And I think you are forgetting precisely how arrogant Trump is. He might wisely (not his wisdom; someone else’s) refuse to debate Biden again under the idea that there’s nothing more for America to learn from another debate. But I think he couldn’t resist if, say, Newsome became the nominee to debate him. If Trump initially refused, the taunting and catcalling would become too much for a personality like Trump’s to resist.

    Debate results, maga people still love Trump.

    Democrats were voting for Biden because, anyone but Trump.

    Independents were left wondering how this country would survive the next 5 years.

    Good point. And which of Trump's advisors is brave enough to tell him he shouldn't debate Newsome, or whoever the nominee would be?

    Have there been any polls asking voters who they think the better golfer is?

    The only theory that makes sense is that Biden’s team knew the abject shitstorm coming and he was too stubborn to drop out, so they scheduled an early debate to force the issue. But that’s likely giving them too much credit

    I will vote for the major party candidate who is not a career criminal, rapist, twice impeached and 34 times a convicted felon.

    Have not seen a golf poll but the better golfer is certainly not this guy.

    When this video was first posted some years back I recall a regular poster and avid golfer - a MAGA type - defending Trump saying he had not driven near the flagged hole. Conveniently forgetting or deliberately ignoring the holes on greens are repositioned on a regular schedule. The owner of a golf course should know that and respect the rules of golf. This rude golfer most certainly failed to do that.

    It’s unheard of to drive a cart across the green during a round. Full stop. At my course, there are handicap flags some old fart members have on their cart, and they drive their carts right up on the fringe, but never on the green. Even that irks me, you sometimes see muddy tire ruts in the pitching areas and fringes right around greens because of this, and it’s otherwise a pristine course. Most courses you have to put your cart back on the path ~50 yards short of the green. I’m all for ADA stuff in general, but honestly I think some of it is stupid when trying to play a sport. If all you are doing is playing forward tees, scooting the ball 100 years down the fairway, and you can’t even walk from the cart path to the green - is that really even playing golf? Like… what’s the point?

    As far as Trump - I assume this was “his” course, so I guess the ultimate argument is it’s his course so he can do what he wants.

    I was shocked and darkly amused that an ostensibly serious debate on the future of this nation got bogged down for a few minutes with which decrepit old man was the better golfer. I’m certain there was zero value in that aspect of the debate last night, and I’m fairly sure we will resolve nothing by continuing to debate it here, especially since those two will never have the match to decide the issue once and for all.

    I don’t think the courage of his advisors would be the deciding factor. There are certain matters on which that man does not listen to anyone.

    Two guys who do not deserve the honor of serving president.

    Biden = elder abuse

    Trump = me-centric moron

    Both sounded like two little kids arguing in the playground.

    What a low point last night was for our country.

    You are right of course, and I apologize for interjecting my off topic response.

    Though I am not a Democrat and therefore not specifically addressed to answer the question, it is a concern that's been on my mind for some time now. A concern now confirmed since I watched the first 15 minutes or so of the 'debate'. As a former Republican driven from the party by the Trump associated insanity I had intended to vote for Biden as I had in 2020. In good conscience I cannot do that, though still adamant I will never cast a vote for Trump. What to do?

    I would hope the Democrat machine will find a way to convince Biden to withdraw as he is clearly not competent to hold the nation's highest office. What does this entail? What sort of cooperation is needed to make this happen?

    I have never liked Trump as a personality but love his political beliefs and the fact he is willing to stand behind them and not pull a Biden changing what he says to sway the people his way.

    I'm not upset by the trumped up legal cases against him. When they start treating Biden and other politicians the way they treated Trump maybe the trials will mean more to me but there was so much wrong with both the NY and the Mar a Lago cases, things that have been ignored against Biden and other politicians.

    I think Trump truly loves America, Biden on the other hand loves Biden and the things America can do for him. Trumps not taking a presidential salary was from the heart not some political stunt. Trump did not get into politics to make money.

    As for personal morals Trump is way above Biden. Outside of his womanizing Trump is a pretty moral person, Biden not so much.

    Then there is racism. Folks love to point the finger at Trump and call him a racist, not true. Biden on the other hand has a long history of racism.
