It means that Saban's use of "quality control" assistant coaches is now legal for everyone else to use.

With st analysts on the field and Crawshaw having near 4.5 speed, we might see him tuck and run on a rugby punt roll out this season.

This literally means you could have a coach for every individual player. You can take a "quality control" analyst and assign him 4 players and his job would be to mentor/coach those players in every aspect of their game.

The question is, how does this apply to the 20 hour contact rule?

If an analyst is coaching up a player, will it limit the time allotted with the on-field position coach?

If done right, you could form an entire secondary coaching staff that coaches up the depth/practice players, getting them ready to plug and play when injuries occur.

If this rule helps our special teams then great. Last year the unit put us in a deeper hole (Utah), and cost us a game (Arkansas).

This also can help the Gators.

Move one of our two O-line coaches to an off field position and put a ST coach on the field on game day.

No need to do that. The special team’s analyst CBN hired can now be on the field as coaches

When I first heard of it a few weeks ago I thought similar. Every player gets a coach at X University!

Then again, too many fingers spoil the pie.

It's a nuance, they can be on the sidelines giving instruction, in position group meetings. What they can't do is direct on the field changes. That is for the actual coaching staff (HC and the 10 coaches). That is how I read the changes.
But i'm sure the envelope will be pushed by many to see what is allowed.

    Agreed.
I would think that the HC would only want the players listening/looking at the coordinators and position coaches while they are on the field. And then getting between series instructions from the analysts.

This is the next thing to go. Certain teams will push this envelope rule change and then the NCAA will say that' ok and then they will push those limits as well until it's all gone.

So there might be more coaches than players on the sidelines...that could be an interesting look.

This seems to compliment CBN’s style of coaching. I can see some positives but I can’t help remembering that old adage, “ too many cooks spoil the broth”.

Pop warner usually have 3-4 dads and get the right number on the field. They may not know shit about football though. Maybe just simplify things if the complexities are too much. Run fast and tackle that kid with the ball
