    Canadian Championships:

Canadian Championships: NCAA Related Results - CollegeGymFans.com

At the 2024 Canadian Championships, veteran Ellie Black led the women's senior standings after Day 1. In 2nd was Iowa commit Aurelie Tran while Minnesota signee Ava Stweart was 3rd. Nebraska's Emma Spence was in 6th, while Iowa signee Sydney Turner was 8th. Another Iowa signee, Cassie Lee, was 9th, while Iowa State signee Frederique Sgarbossa was 10th, just ahead of Utah signee Clara Raposo in 11th.

The Canadian Olympics Team will likely feature a few gymnasts who will be in collegiate team gymnasts for the 2025 season.

Meet the 2026 Class of 5-Star Recruits:

Meet the Class of 2026 Five-Star Recruits - College Gym News

    - College Gym News

Recruiting of 2026 recruits officially begins on June 15, 2024, signings in November 2025. There are 11 2026 5-star recruits.

    1. Presley Duke
    Point total: 90

What makes her great: Duke takes the No. 1 spot in the class of 2026 rankings, and not by a slim margin. She hails from the same club as class of 2025 gymnast and LSU commit Haley Mustari and is likely to gain just as much attention during her recruiting journey as her teammate. The easy answer when it comes to her strength is bars, where she had a perfect event total of 25. However, at 24 her beam mark wasn’t that far behind.

Where she can get even better: Duke’s weak event, if you can call it that, is vault, where she “only” competes a Yurchenko full. If she upgrades it before college, not much can get in her way.

    2. Jayla Hang
    Point total: 82

What makes her great: Hang slots in as the No. 2 recruit in the class and the highest-rated elite thanks to her strong bars and beam prowess.

Where she can get even better: If we’re being honest, Hang doesn’t really have a true weak event. Her lowest point totals came on floor (19), but it was a difference of two at most. If she can add in a touch more difficulty on the event, as well as clean up her landings to make them more ready for college, it’ll be smooth sailing to the NCAA.

    3. CaMarah Williams
    Point total: 81

What makes her great: Williams has become a fan favorite this past year after deciding to dabble in elite thanks to her unique skills. But she’s been on the CGN ratings team’s radar for a while, with one rater even noting that she was likely strong enough to reach five stars last year had we rated her. While she’s strong across the board, Williams stands out on vault and floor in particular, with near-perfect event totals of 24 and 23 points, respectively, on the two events.

Where she can get even better: Bars isn’t where Williams shines, but that doesn’t mean she can’t do so in the future. Simply finding the skills and combinations that work for her may be just what she needs to become a true all-around star. Even if it doesn’t happen, being a standout three-eventer in college is nothing to be upset about.

    4. Hezly Rivera
    Point total: 80

What makes her great: If you watched elite nationals this year, you very well know why Rivera is one to watch not just in the elite space in the coming years but during her recruiting journey as well.

Where she can get even better: Rivera does beautiful gymnastics with clean lines, but she sometimes struggles with consistency. It’s no doubt she’s able to perform when it counts, though, as fans saw in Fort Worth. In terms of the events, if she has a weakness, it would be vault or beam, but only by a hair; her event totals came out to, in Olympic order, 19, 22, 19, 20, respectively.

    5. Madray Johnson
    Point total: 81

What makes her great: This WOGA gymnast has been around the elite scene for a while now, and it shows; she performs more difficulty than a number of her class of 2026 counterparts. This stands out in particular on vault, where she competes a near-college ready Yurchenko one and a half, and on beam, with her incredible presence and extension.

Where she can get even better: If anything, Johnson’s floor work isn’t quite up to the level of her other events. If she can clean up her form and landings there, she’ll be set to rise in the ratings, as well as be a true all-around threat in college no matter where she decides to go.

    6. Alicia Zhou
    Point total: 80

What makes her great: Zhou’s standout events are bars and beam, and she has the results to prove it. She’s a former elite junior national champion on bars, and won the junior title—as well as bars and beam—at the Nastia Liukin Cup in 2021.

Where she can get even better: As with a lot of younger gymnasts, vault is a slower event to develop. That’s the case for Zhou, but not by a lot. She competes just a full-twisting Yurchenko, but the form and fundamentals are there should she choose to upgrade.

    7. Michelle Pineda
    Point total: 80

What makes her great: Pineda impressed our raters with her college-ready floor work. Everything is clean, from her form to her leaps to her landings, something that makes her stand out from the hoppy experience many fans have watching elite routines.

Where she can get even better: Her vault and bars aren’t quite as strong as her other events, but with time, she can get them there. Her full-twisting Yurchenko has good form, and she competed an upgraded one and a half in 2023 that shows promise. As for bars, her handstands are already strong–important for a college routine–but she can sometimes be inconsistent or get tired by the end of an elite routine.

    8. Dulcy Caylor
    Point total: 78

What makes her great: Caylor has great bars, which is why it’s her highest event total when it comes to her ratings breakdown, coming in at 22 out of 25 points. Her floor is also a strength, unsurprising for a World Champions Centre gymnast. It’s no wonder she made a mark at elite nationals this year and punched her ticket to the Olympic Trials.

Where she can get even better: Beam is her biggest area for improvement. She can often appear nervy and lacking in confidence while performing. Her form and dismount can also be scrappy at times, but we don’t foresee it being a big issue when it comes time for college, thanks to shorter routines and more of a focus on execution over difficulty.

    9. Kieryn Finnell
    Point total: 78

What makes her great: Finnell is coming off two strong elite seasons. She won the 2023 U.S. Classic, finished second at nationals, and represented the U.S. at the 2024 Pac Rim championships, winning beam.

Where she can get even better: Just one point separated Fennell’s four events in terms of ratings point totals, meaning she’s consistently great across the board. So, the obvious answer to where she can get even better is both everywhere and nowhere.

    10. Imani White
    Point total: 78

What makes her great: In a comparatively weaker class to that of 2025 or 2024, which each had more five-star level 10s, White stands out. She finished third in the all-around at level 10 nationals, second on bars, and tied for third on floor. But that’s not all. She also competed at the Nastia Liukin Cup each of the past three seasons, winning bars this year and finishing in a tie for second in the all-around in 2023.

Where she can get even better: While bars is clearly where White shines, her other three events aren’t quite as strong—but that’s not to say they aren’t still great. With an upgraded vault and a touch cleaner form on beam and floor, White can be poised to knock it out of the park in college.

    11. Simone Brown
    Point total: 78

What makes her great: An unfortunate injury ended Brown’s 2024 season too soon but not before she could make her mark in advance of the start of her recruiting journey. The level 10 from South Carolina is a stellar vaulter whose Yurchenko one and a half is phenomenal more times than not. She also excels on beam, a fun combination of strengths.

Where she can get even better: Since Brown has dealt with injuries off and on the past several seasons, she hasn’t had a ton of opportunities to get into a groove with her gymnastics and refine her routines. Because of this, her form in some places can be a bit loose. However, it’s an easy fix. The difficulty and presence are there; Brown just needs to put on the finishing touches.

Update on LSU's Konnor McClain from College Gym News:

Konnor McClain Long term Torn left Achilles, hoping for bars and beam to start 2025 season 05/19/24

I'll be surprised if LSU HC Jay Clark risks bringing Konnor back as early as December for training and January for performing even if only on bars and beam. This type of injury takes 10 to 12 months for recovery. The earliest at 10 months would be the end of the season, not at the beginning.

College Gym Fans has a bit of a different way of grading recruits. The CGF list of graded recruits for 2024:

    2024 Ratings - CollegeGymFans.com

Skye Blakely is of course 5 stars.
Lily Bruce is out of 5 stars and is in 4.5 stars.
Taylor Clark is out of 4 stars and is in 3 stars.

I'd take the rankings with a grain of salt as College Gym Fans still has Alyssa Orgen listed as a UF 3-star recruit instead of UK.

    2025 Ratings - CollegeGymFans.com

    Jocelyn Sasson remains 5 stars.
    Madelyn Dorban remains 5 stars
Amelia Disidore is out of 4 stars and is in 4.5 stars.

Again, take the CGF rankings with a grain of salt.

College Gym News 2026 Top 4 Star Recruits to Watch:

Recruits to Watch in the Class of 2026 - College Gym News

    - College Gym News

Combining the eleven 5 stars in post #1222 with the twelve 4 stars in this post yields the top 23 currently available gymnasts in the 2026 recruiting cycle according to College Gym News.

    Sofia Estrada

Why she’s one to watch: Following in the footsteps of 2025 five-stars Jasmine Cawley and Jocelyn Sasson, Estrada is another impressive level 10 recruit from Brandy Johnson’s and was right on the cusp of reaching five stars herself. Her highlights include a Yurchenko 1.5 on vault that could be in lineups across the country tomorrow, as well as an easy full-in on floor. With just a few more points on beam or very slight improvement on all four events, she could continue her club’s five-star streak.

    Zoey Molomo

Why she’s one to watch: Fresh off being named to the senior national team and qualifying to the Olympic Trials, Molomo is an undoubtedly fierce competitor. As impressive as her accomplishments have been thus far, she could be truly unstoppable in college with some cleaning up of her technique, particularly on bars and beam. Downgrading her difficulty will undoubtedly accomplish that, but we have a feeling Molomo will improve sooner than that becoming necessary.

    Raeya Linton

Why she’s one to watch: Linton came so close to five stars, coming in just two points shy with 76. This is due almost entirely to bars, where she had just 11 event points while vault, beam, and floor were all 20 points or higher, with beam reaching a near-perfect 23 out of 25. If she can improve bars even just the slightest bit over the next two seasons, she’ll be primed not just for five stars but for a successful college career.

    Addie Sarisky

Why she’s one to watch: Sarisky came up shy of five stars only by five points with a 73. She’s this year’s national bars champion and rightfully so! Her form and consistency on the event gave her 24 points, and this routine will undoubtedly be a staple in whatever team’s lineup she ends up in. Beam and floor are both solid events, too, but the biggest improvement for Sarisky can be made on vault. Currently competing a Yurchenko full, the form on the landing and overall amplitude (and maybe an upgrade in the coming years) will be what can boost her to five stars in the next few seasons.

    Morgan Reihl

Why she’s one to watch: Coming off an extremely impressive season winning third all-around at the Nastia Liukin Cup and becoming a national champion on beam, Reihl is certainly one to watch. The confidence she shows competing beam is what makes her such a standout on this event in addition to her form, sharp movements, and unique skills. The biggest area of improvement for Reihl will be vault, where she earned the least amount of points but can make the biggest jump in the next couple of seasons. Reihl competed her Yurchenko full for the first time at nationals, so being able to have more experience with this vault in the next few years will be greatly beneficial before moving on to college.

    Kendall Torrens

Why she’s one to watch: Torrens is undoubtedly one to watch moving forward, having already scored a perfect 10 on floor. She brings a strong, ready-for-NCAA routine to the table, opening with a strong combination E pass with great leaps and performance quality. Bars is another strong event for Torrens, as is beam, but vault is the one in need of the most improvement. Her Yurchenko full is strong but lacks in the distance NCAA judges are looking. With another season to get stronger and possibly upgrade to a 10.0 start value, Torrens will have no problem being a strong competitor at any program.

    Maddie Stewart

Why she’s one to watch: Stewart brings a near-perfect vault to the table, consistently competing a huge, extremely clean Yurchenko one and a half. This vault could be put into lineup and have an immediate impact with her height, form, and great landing. Stewart’s other three events are strong but could all use a little bit of improvement in order to get her to five stars in the future. Beam is Stewart’s next most solid event with 15 points, but bars and floor are both under this mark. Cleaning up some skills on bars, and tightening up landings and some dance elements will push her to this higher mark.

    Emerson Gaa

Why she’s one to watch: Gaa is coming off a successful 2024 season that included her first appearance at the Nastia Liukin Cup where she won the floor title in the junior division. Gaa’s form on that event stands out in particular, as well as her opening E pass and closing two and a half twist. The routine already looks ready to make any college lineup, and with time and the capability to upgrade, we wouldn’t be surprised if she notched a perfect event total by the time she graduates. In terms of areas for improvement, Gaa competes a solid routine on bars that would hold up in NCAA, but she needs to gain confidence in her skills and a little more sharpness in her movements to truly stand out.

    Tori Hess

Why she’s one to watch: Hess is a great gymnast overall, but she especially excels on floor, with a clean routine featuring a front double twist. Vault is her weaker event, comparatively, but her Yurchenko full-on tuck is clean and provides a solid foundation for improvement or upgrade.

    Audrey Snyder

Why she’s one to watch: Snyder has great presence and good execution on beam. She also has the workings of great bars and floor and should thrive on those events in college. While she doesn’t have the most difficulty in elite, she should excel with college routines, where she can downgrade some of the excess difficulty to be able to perfect her form. Her vault is one area for improvement, as she only competes a good-but-not-yet-great Yurchenko full.

    Isabelle David

Why she’s one to watch: A member of the Jamaican national team and an accomplished level 10 in the U.S., David came so close to a five-star rating with 72 points. She is an extremely well-rounded athlete, earning 18-plus points on vault, beam, and floor, and her clean Yurchenko half and huge double layout on floor in particular would be a great addition to any college lineup. The one major area of improvement would come for her on bars; although her routine has all the makings of a great NCAA bar routine, improving the form on her major releases would undoubtedly benefit her moving forward.

    Sutton Strasser

Why she’s one to watch: The 2024 floor national champion and Nastia Liukin Cup qualifier certainly makes her case as to why she would be a great college gymnast. Strasser’s two strongest events, beam and floor, both totalled above 20 points in our ratings. With a solid triple series on beam, and a strong floor routine opening with a really clean E pass, both of these routines would be great on any team. Vault was the lowest point total for Strasser, where she currently performs a Yurchenko full. With so much power behind the vault, a possible upgrade might benefit Strasser going into the next season.

Gymnasts College Gym News would upgrade to 5 stars now:

Former Recruits We'd Upgrade to Five-Stars - College Gym News

    Sloane Blakely, former 4 stars:

    College: Florida

Why we’d upgrade her: In 2020 we rated Blakely as an elite, as she’d competed as one for the past four years. Back then, some form and consistency issues prevented her from reaching the five-star benchmark. Things changed in 2021 when she downgraded to level 10 for her senior season. She had a sensational glow-up, scoring over 39 points in four of the six meets she competed in. She posted career highs of 9.900 or better on all four events, as well as a 39.600 in the all-around at regionals. Those results, coupled with clean execution, would have boosted her overall rating score substantially, and she would have been named a five-star recruit.

    Anya Pilgrim, former 4 stars:

    College: Florida

Why we’d upgrade her: Similarly to Blakely, in 2021 we rated Pilgrim as an elite. At the time, she was competing only a piked-down Yurchenko full on vault and had some execution issues on the other events that didn’t award her gymnastics the fluidity and lightness that have come to characterize her in college. When she downgraded to level 10 in 2022, though, she was able to emphasize the best elements of her gymnastics. She scored a career high 39.025 in her first level-10 meet, and since then, despite some hiccups on bars and beam, she proved to be a five-star-worthy all-arounder, capable of a 9.950 on vault and of 9.750 or better on the other three events.

As a reminder, yesterday, June 15, 2024, was the first day of "official" recruiting for the class of 2026 which can sign LOIs as early as November 2024:

    The 2026 class rankings:

    - College Gym News

I've seen Helzy Rivera who is an outstanding gymnast and would be a threat to make the US Paris Olympics Team if she were older and more experienced. For #1 ranked Presley Duke to be rated 10 points higher, she must be one hellacious gymnast.

I don't know how the insider guy at tiger droppings gymnastics recruiting would know, be he thinks UF has the inside track on Helzy Rivera. One thing is certain, most of the top gymnasts will take as many visits as they need or want before deciding.

Going out on a limb, I predict Victoria Nguyen will opt for her 5th year joining Ellie Lazzari in doing so. Ellie graduated in the spring and decided to return for her 5th year. Victoria was not one of our spring graduates, so it makes sense for her to come back and especially so if Morgan Hurd is back. Victoria likely will be the last piece of UF's 2025 roster. We'll see sometime this summer, but I do think she will decide she wants one last ride to win a national championship.

USA Olympic Team tryouts will be on 6/28 and 6/30. Kayla DiCello on her motivation to do more than she did in 2020.

The Olympic Games on X: "Three years ago, @KaylaDiCello was an alternate for @TeamUSA at Tokyo 2020. "I wasn’t satisfied with that," she says. At next week's U.S. trials, she'll bring that motivation as she looks for a spot at @Paris2024. @USAGym | @GatorsGym https://t.co/LbZbTwxvzF" / X (twitter.com)

Hope Kayla makes the team as there will be 5 members and no alternates in the Paris 24 Olympics.

The tryouts will be televised on NBC. Unfortunately, NBC has decided to air the Olympics on Peacock. (shaking head) I hope they change their mind as I won't be paying for Peacock to watch the Olympics.
