By: Eric Fawcett -- June 24, 2024 Since coming to the University of Florida, Todd Golden and his staff have made bringing in international talent a priority and they’ve been successful already landing talent from multiple continents. One of the great parts about bringing in players from non-American countries is that there is a good chance they will have their name called for international competition, and that’s what happened with Alex Condon who was named to the Australian Select team. Nice, sounds like his offensive game is developing to the point where he can replace some of Tyrese’s post scoring. That’s a big hole to fill
Barring injury or illness, I can't see a scenario in which Condon doesn't start for us. But it'll be interesting to see if he starts alongside Chinyelu, Haugh, or Alexis. Sounds like there's a buzz going around about Chinyelu's sheer size and athleticism so my feeling is that he starts at center and Condon starts at power forward. Haugh and Alexis will get lots of floor time at the 3 and 4.
Didn't see anything posted on this I found some box scores from some games, Alex started the 2nd of the 2. Australia Select | Nippon Life Cup 2024 Couldn't find any game film though.
box scores show game 1 11 pts, 4 RB in 12.5 minutes and 13 pts, 3 RB in nearly 20 minutes in Game 2. His team won the first game by a point and tied the 2nd (no OT in exhibition games), so he's getting meaningful minutes in tight games.
