Smart move, getting actual playing time over sitting on the bench and practice reps. UF is not the only route to the NFL. Plenty of HOF's would tell you the same thing.
There are many 3* qbs that are great nfl players that went to small schools. Top 300 that choose to go to smaller schools instead of a major football school are a bit different situation. This kid could be at a legit school vying for playoffs if he so chose. Coming in behind Lagway isn’t the best path but he had many other choices I would assume
Rather get another year 2 portal kid next year at this point. Not worth taking a project. They great programs get a well regarded QB every year, regardless of the depth chart or who they signed the year prior. One injury away from playing time
I’d guess top qbs have a nice price tag. We may have other priorities also. I’d look for a solid qb but not tge 5* type. Manning sitting two years at Texas is not the norm.
