Ongoing UF Softball Commentary

The more I think about it, the more I think Cahalan would be a good pick up for us. She's been in the portal for 18 days and hasn't transferred as far as I know. I am not convinced Mia can win that job but time will tell. Ariel might but she has played such a superb third base that I have no problem leaving her there. Comia is an unknown factor. I simply haven't seen Comia play enough to know if she is a lock down shortstop but I am not convinced she is ready at the plate. I also wasn't convinced Kendra was ready when she came in as a freshman so take any and all of my doubts with a huge helping of salt. Cahalan coming in could simply answer the questions.

 

I'm somewhat surprised at Glasco going to Texas Tech. He has had consistently for years at Louisiana a good and hard to beat program. That's recruiting to a mid-major but with a rabid fan base. That he would leave someday for a better job doesn't surprise me but I don't see Texas Tech as a better job.

 

Money will be better and with the evil twins gone the big12 might be more competitive.

 

You would think Louisiana views softball as one of their premier programs and would try to match whatever Tech is offering. It would surprise me if Tech is really going to the bank on this. Granted, though, that the Big12 is vastly different without Texas and Oklahoma but how does that make Tech more attractive, other than having an easier road? The league has not improved in the eyes of the softball world. Quite the converse. Okie State is likely to dominate now.

 

The 2028 softball Olympics will be played in OKC. A lot of softball people are upset about this because softball players don't get to experience the full flavor of the Olympic Games with everything else in the LA area. I get that, but where would they play in LA? There isn't a suitable stadium that I know about. UCLA's stadium is subpar and not appropriate. USC doesn't even play softball. I'd hate for them to play at some baseball stadium with the screwed-up softball configuration on a baseball diamond.

I’m drinking the juice @rickjs1 is selling concerning Taylor. I believe she’s going to be something absolutely amazing.

 

A diamond in the rough perhaps? I saw her in an interview someone posted, maybe you, she seems like a really good kid. Maybe she’ll have to wait until junior/senior season to work into a starting player but I honestly love players like that. After all that hard work it makes their successes so much sweeter! I love me an underdog!

 

I think our Kenny and Okla state are the undisputed masters of the big12 now.

 

Why even bother to make it a part of the Olympics if they are stuck thousands of miles away in freaking Oklahoma? what a bummer for everyone.

 

They couldn't spend a few bucks to upgrade the facilities in Fullerton or maybe Palm Springs where they hold the Judi Garman (Fullerton) and Mary Nutter (Palm Springs) tournaments? Still got plenty of time.

June 15th according to Justin McLeod. but it wasn't announced on the official gator twitter until yesterday June 20th. she's from UNC Wilmington

 

Is that not Kara Hammock , the UNC Wilmington pitcher, not a “Olivia Hammock, a power hitting infielder”. Is the article author misinformed? As noted, a weird report.

 

I googled “Olivia hammock” and Kara’s name and picture popped up. Sounds like that person is very misinformed

 

It’s amazing how awful most of these guys are at their jobs.

 

You get better and more accurate information from Diamond Gators than you do from the media.

 

She starts her senior season in September. She's a 2025 class.
