Tim Tebow is a unicorn in many ways and doesn’t really represent mainstream football players. Your statement about who made who more money is at best a diversion from the topic. You don’t know and neither do I, and value comes in more forms than just cash.

But the fact is, we wouldn’t have gotten Tebow if not for Urban Meyer.

Skink, I heard Tim Tebow say he would not have signed with SOS if he had been coach, he signed with Urban because he was attracted to Meyers offense.

With respect, you are cherry picking extremes. Most people are in favor of a player being able to make money on their NIL. Not everyone has the same NIL value as proven players like Tebow, Harvin, etc. Student athletes were compensated well with all of the things mentioned before like education, training, meals, housing, tutoring, branding, exposure, support etc etc. Many had no name value but were still compensated for their play with all of the aforementioned benefits. What's happening with recruiting and NIL isn't the same as a Harvin making money off of jersey sales which he should have been able to do.

Also, anecdotal but a friend of mines kid played and starred in college football a few years back. During his recruitment and his freshman year his father told me they were blessed and his son did not need anything. Said he was totally taken care of did not have to want for anything while there. He took a stab in the NFL for a few years and made some low level money which was still good money but he turned his education and networking into much much more than he made in his stint in the NFL.

People taking exception to the dismissive remarks about education and benefits the overwhelming majority of students have to work and pay for is not blowing a dog whistle. Many just see a polluted system st the moment while also taking exception to insane coaches salaries and buyouts as well as the unfair limitations that were in place for the elite and famous athletes that couldn't make their share prior to NIL. It doesn't have to be an all or nothing either or.

    Don’t do this.

This is a fair and reasonable post. But Skink naming NINETY EIGHT PERCENT of college football players as money grubbing gold-diggers is not a reasonable post. It and the fact that nobody else is taking offense to it is a sign that this sight is cooked.

Enjoy your time here I’m out

Interesting. Might Tim have benefited from having SOS as his QB coach, been a better NFL prospect? I can see why with Tebow's skill set he liked what Urban was doing. Fit him very well.

People can disagree with a take without having to take offense. For many like myself not leaving a rating is a way of not supporting an opinion without letting a total unknown stranger on a message board offend me. I save my disagrees and dislikes for a few delusional propagandists over on too hot.

Also, I don't think 98% Of players are any more selfish or money hungry than anyone that age. If anything I think there are parents using their kids for excessive benefit and that is pretty shameful.

And the ones capable in the classroom are getting a great deal. The ones that can hardly read are there for football and football only. School is an inconvenience for them.

So you pick the one unicorn in the last 25 years or so to use as an example, Wow! What about the tens of thousands or athletes that never sniffed a pro paycheck or got their face in front of the camera that have degrees that are useful in procuring a non-sports career. There are infinitely more players that benefited from the arrangement than were hurt by it.
Your contention is utterly ridiculous, my overly sensitive friend...and by the way:
