We aren’t going to get anywhere with you quoting scripture to me. You’re operating entirely based on what I consider to be a faulty premise. It makes the entirety of your lengthy post completely meaningless to me.

My only point was that Christians have always attempted to legislate morality throughout American history. They have supported laws aimed at regulating sexuality and obscenity in media and public life. This includes laws against pornography, restrictions on LGBTQ+ rights, and efforts to maintain traditional sexual mores in society. Laws against gay marriage, laws regarding alcohol from prohibition to current standing blue laws etc etc.

I think infidelity is the absolute shittiest thing a person can do to another short of gross physical harm. And I find it interesting that the church has never attempted to pass laws making infidelity a punishable offense despite it making Yahweh’s top 10. I suspect that’s because it hits way too close to home for many of the would be rule-makers.

And I don’t believe you when you say you see homosexuality the same way as pre-marital sex. If an unwed couple with a baby showed up at your church on Sunday would they be ostracized by you or your congregation? Now how about a homosexual couple? Be honest.

You should read the multiple posts i have made over the years of my wonderful employee that was transitioning.

If you mistake my beliefs for how I actually treat someone, then that is your problem.

Perhaps you also missed the multiple post over the years of one of my dearest friends having a middle school daughter identify as a boy.

This is someone we have loved dearly since the day they were born.

I can disagree with someone and still deeply love and care about them and treat them as I would want to be treated.

Except...once again...the ten commandments do not speak to "one designated" religion. It can be fairly argued that Jesus eliminated their need. Judaism, Islam and even some portions of Buddhism adhere more directly to more of the original 10 than Jesus encouraged us to do.

So which "designated" religion do these 10 commandments belong to?

I really like you Tilly, but this just sounds like you believe they made a decision to transition like they would which college to attend. You disagree with them? They don't really have a choice here.

For spiritual people to judge and disdain, even though they "love" them?

Well...I disagree. We all have tendencies or predispositions that we do not give in to. Right?

Is there's any worse than mine or yours? No. That is where people on my side and I part ways.

Yet here you stand in judgement of something you disagree with. Ah tolerance.

I have stayed as much as I can in my little bubble in downtown. Go to the "rural" outskirts and you'll be aghast at what stupidity is out there.

    You mean "we" stand.

Yet you stand in judgement of something people have no control over. I stand in judgement of people judging (and disdaining) such people.

    Ah, tolerance.

The real fun starts when Group A takes control, and a large portion of Group A finds out they aren't the ones who get to choose the supreme being.

Emo Philips has a great bit about this:
"Once I saw this guy on a bridge about to jump. I said, "Don't do it!" He said, "Nobody loves me." I said, "God loves you. Do you believe in God?"

He said, "Yes." I said, "Are you a Christian or a Jew?" He said, "A Christian." I said, "Me, too! Protestant or Catholic?" He said, "Protestant." I said, "Me, too! What franchise?" He said, "Baptist." I said, "Me, too! Northern Baptist or Southern Baptist?" He said, "Northern Baptist." I said, "Me, too! Northern Conservative Baptist or Northern Liberal Baptist?"

He said, "Northern Conservative Baptist." I said, "Me, too! Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region, or Northern Conservative Baptist Eastern Region?" He said, "Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region." I said, "Me, too!"

Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1879, or Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1912?" He said, "Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1912." I said, "Die, heretic!" And I pushed him over."

He did no such thing. The "LGB[X...] community" is a man made construct designed to isolate themselves from the greater "community (of Man)" which is comprised of males and females of the species.

The idea of "transitioning" via surgical/ medical intervention is 100% man made, and 100% NOT biological (recognizing that there are species in which M/F transition to F/M, naturally, per their species, such as some amphibians--which is not per extrinsic intervention).

We are certainly charged with loving and accepting the mentally challenged and ill, or those with psychological (or other rare) conditions, but pretending to redefine biology per Orwellian whim, is simply promoting a lie, and is therefore counter productive.

Uhmmm this isn't a "I'd like to try a cigarette" predisposition, this is who they are. Many of which who have tired to not follow who they know they are end up killing themselves. I don't know why those who believe they are just giving in to an urge or something can't wrap their heads around the fact that we are in the end organic material, and sometimes our brains can be developed differently.

I would add that the super-heathen has violated a number of the commandments that they mandate be displayed multiple times and perhaps even worse by their standards believes that he doesn't have to ask for forgiveness.
Trump believes in God, but hasn’t sought forgiveness

LOL at the people who squeal about theocracy.

Axiom: if you want to find out who’s really in charge, find out who you’re not allowed to criticize.

Dare: go ahead, I dare you to say bad things about religious folks.

You make a good point about which purportedly "sinful" behaviors are criminalized versus viewed as moral guidelines. If the Ten Commandments are mostly moral suggestions (not codified into law), why should they be cited as the foundation for our rule of law? Notably, I think there were adultery and fornication laws on the books in most of our history, but at some point, they apparently were seldom enforced, assuming they were ever really fully enforced.
