So Walton hires a new Softball Assistant Coach (Stephanie VanBrakle Prothro) to head up the development of their pitching staff - which looks like a good hire. So what happened to Chelsey Dobbins who they just hired last year for the same position? Was she fired or did she leave for another job?
Said she stepped down due to family but surprised it's been so quiet. I don't know that Walton mentioned anything about it anywhere.
I heard a Rumor that CCD was offered the HC at UNC Charlotte. That has not been confirmed. Ashley Chastain, former UNCC coach, was announced as South Carolina's head coach on June 11. The announcement is on the SC website. She took virtually all of the staff with her. UNCC still lists the former coaches as being there. That tells us nothing except there has been no hire.
Well it wasn't a secret she wanted to head coach last year at UNC so I imagine Walton had a plan in place
