Just hope most Aggie fans are not like these two idiots. Gatorgal04 is to be commended for work above and beyond the call to duty. She is devoted to Gator Baseball. Thank you very much.
I have a lot of doubts that the Brain Trust that seems to decide such things won't give what the kids earned, because muh "reasonz."
& TY. Definitely different than applauding as he's getting helped off the field. That is definitely classless--wasn't really defending them, just needed a little more to get your point.
I guess sometimes telling a story as I type my brain assumes well everyone knows that and I don’t clarify details. Yours was a great question and I thank you for being interested enough to want clarity.
Most fans are sportsmen and sportswomen. They don't want a competitor to go down with injury and don't cheer for that. And as a player you don't want to win that way. At the 1994 Final Four when UF was playing Duke Grant Hill took a horrible fall in the first half. Duke had a lot of good players but Grant Hill was their best. I don't think that a single Gator fan at the game cheered thinking he was injured.
Thank You @Gatorgal04 for all you do for us. You make this board the most pleasant one that I have ever participated on. Your time, effort, dedication, and obvious love of the game as well as our Gators puts you in a very special platform that we’re all guilty of taking for granted. This board and all of your “kids” are so lucky and proud to be a part of what you make this special place for us surrounded by Gators Baseball. Hope your “break” is fun and catch back up with you during the draft!
I have a standing offer from an Aggie-alum.. er "Former Student".. friend who works at Oklahoma State to come to a weekend series in Stillwater. (He would have been happy to honor that during the regional, but I couldn't get away). Classy guy. After the regional: "congrats, but we'll get you next time", etc. We also talked after the incident with Slanderman and friend... and he cancelled his yearly scholarship donation to TAMU MechE. If it hadn't been for Slanderman and friend, I'd have watched the finals casually rooting for A&M and catching up on chores, but now.. meh. Will probably still do the chores but probably have soccer on in the background instead. Slanderous cult vs. the shoutier (though non-homophobic, AFAIK) gender-flipped Kim Mulkey... there are no winners there. I join the thanks for @Gatorgal04. Keeps to the rules, lets us "play", and is clear how "far" one can go. Heck, I'm 42 and have been on web-boards for almost a quarter century -- she's a HOF mod of any forum in my book. If only SEC umpires were half as competent!
Yup. Verbally accusing someone of a crime that they did not commit generally qualifies as slander (IANAL!). Slanderman kinda sounds much like Slenderman (an internet meme) -- trying to make that particular asshole TAMU fan (and friend) be memorable. 'Cause F' those two forever.
That's disgusting. Now we can put Aggie and Longhorn fans in the same category. Freak both of them!!!
Disagree. I never root for or against coaches. As far as the SWAC is concerned, I would never want them to win anytime and anywhere.
https://247sports.com/college/flori...eaching-college-world-series-final-233092133/ After the semifinal win versus the Gators, Texas A&M head coach Jim Schlossnagle expressed high praise for a Florida program that has nine College World Series appearances and a national championship under longtime head coach Kevin O'Sullivan. "I want to make sure — Florida, what [Sullivan] did with his club, coming from 13-17 to playing in the Final Four in the country, just — Florida is the program that at Texas A&M we're trying to emulate," Schlossnagle said postgame. "State school that continues just to build really good high school players on top of high school players and cherry pick the portal and not have to rely on the transfer portal so much. Florida, to me, is the epitome of what every program should look to be. It doesn't shock me. Death, taxes, and Florida in Omaha is pretty much things you can count on."
