Not much more can be said than: what an outstanding run by the guys and the coaches. The team appeared to be dead in the water after losing the UK series (the last home game) in early May and they came together as a team-- bonded- and played the best ball of the season in the last month.... All games away from home and played like champs till the bitter end. Ran out of gas against a rested and quality TAM pitching staff but I will have great memories of this post season run. Will miss the guys that are going on the next level or on with the next stages of their lives but they gave us a wonderful ride in the past weeks. Cags and Neely will play at the next level, including the show and some of the others will remember this great post-season run forever. Looking forward to how the 2024-25 roster shapes up- who stays, who comes into the fold. Cyr from the Canes is a good get and hope a few more of his level are on the way. Go Gators.
Yeah...that's what fans do. Even when the player is rolled off in a gurney. I guess bc the player isn't dead, but I've always seen it as a positive expressions of sportsmanship. Cheering when the player goes down, is--at leat can be--indicative of ill will. Not when they're being taken off the field, absent some context evidencing ill will. That's kinda what I'm asking @74nole for.
I did and I see how you read it too. I’m sure he’ll clarify unless he’s off to find a wayward longhorns fan so he can kick their ass. Lol
CWS and NCAA should be grateful to the Gators -- they put on a great show while sending the weaker teams out of the tourney. Agree or not, but the two still standing are the overall best of the 64 teams.
They went WAY further than what I thought they would when the regular season ended. Quite a good indication of what the future holds.
I agree his glove and arm for that matter are much better than I thought. He won't come back if he's drafted in the top 5 rounds (or even 10) for that matter. This typically means he has told teams he's sign-able.
Pretty good run for a team folks thought we wouldn't even make the CWS, Sully did a great job cobbling togther a team that no one wanted to play
Congrats guys, you fought hard and came together at the end when you needed to. Awesome that you guys wanted it. Wish you each much success in whatever you do. Thanks for the great, fun memories. GO GATORS!!!!
I disagree vehemently. Link Jarrett is a class act. It was the one reason I wanted them to beat Tenn.
I don't know Link Jarrett, but he seems like a good guy. However, I can never pull for FSU to win any game in any sport regardless of the circumstances. That's just how I was raised.
UF should be ranked #4 in the final polls. Any doubts that the polls won't give UF what they earned during postseason finishing with a 36-30 record?
Congrats to the Gator baseball team and staff for getting so far in this year's post-season....just fantastic! Tip of the hat to the Aggies as well for what they've accomplished this season - and good luck in the finals against Tennessee! GO Gators!
Not them. There’s a big difference between applauding and cheering. Their closer became a team mate of Alan’s in pro ball and Alan asked him what was up with what they did. His response was “you’re damn right we cheered when you went down we didn’t want to have to face you.”
Maybe I mis-worded my description. We were sitting about 8 rows up sitting behind our dugout. The Texas team was sitting to our right in the next section of seats. They stood up as a group and cheered loudly as Alan was lying face down on the field trying to pull himself up to his feet. They were not applauding as he was helped off the field by Ross Jones and Tommy Boss.
