Topping Apple and Microsoft. Nvidia has 70 percent of the world's AI chip market. Stock price has grown 700 percent since Nov. 2022.

Wife got in on it a couple years ago and has made a killing from a small-time investment. Last week they split, making each share something like 1/10 of the previous price. This one may continue to rise.

Wife got us in at 140 - we’re still holding. I’m all for cashing out but wife says no. So we hold. Been a real nice ride.

    Shave some profit.

Often post split they run a bit but will settle back.

Then again if they keep crushing numbers they will still go.

Nvidia and pretty much all the chip makers, AMD, Intel, Broadcom etc will be great investments to hold over the next 10-20 years. Massive change in the economy will be had thanks to AI. Probably the biggest change to society since the PC or Automobile.

I bought around $250 and have no plans to sell. Keep thinking I should buy more but don’t. SMH is a good semiconductor ETF that I have too. Gives some diversity if you don’t want to buy individual stocks

FYI - if you hold any S&P index funds, it's currently weighted about 5% NVDA.

More recently, the Internet and Smart Phone have changed society and how we communicate, socialize, obtain information and shop. But I get your point about AI. Half of my work e-mails are about how to implement AI into your operations.

Yep. SMH is a good fund and so is SOXX which doesnt have the Taiwanese chip makers in it in case the China-Taiwan issue makes you nervous about investing

    Of I don’t disagree.
The hardest thing is when to sell off some of a winner.
However it’s not a gain until you sell.

If it's going to kill us, might as well profit while we await our destruction

A lot of jobs will be gone in 20 years with AI, unless the govs of the world slow it down or regulate it. Honestly that's the only thing I worry about with these investments, either regulations to save people's jobs or China invading Taiwan (Nvidia's entire chip manufacturing is in Taiwan, huge risk...). If AI takes off, China might be pushed to invade to negate the western advantage.

I wonder if that happened if the founderies have some sort of self destruct when the tech and intel would get destroyed. It would be in Nvidia’s best interest to not allow their tech to fall into the hands of a country that is known to steal such things.
It may be a bit far fetched I know.

I've been hearing so much about the automation boogeyman. It's nothing new. There's always somebody lamenting automation and its catastrophic impact on workers. More people than ever work from home. Computers can do almost any task if it has the components. Yet, we're sitting at 4% unemployment after a couple of years in the 3's. Necessity is the mother of all invention. There will be more jobs to fill whatever is lost due to AI. To date, I've yet to have an experience with AI that left me speechless, amazed or astonished. Frankly, at this point, I think it's way overhyped.

Like computers, I don't see a need for governments slowing down AI. Regulation to some degree is a given. I think people greatly underestimate humans adherence to self-preservation.
