I’m thinking 9am tomorrow morning. I sent a strongly worded email to the CWS folks demanding they have bloody marys at the concessions or else we’re moving the tourney.

 

I could see Shelnut moving into 3 hole and Wilson moving into 6 hole. Just a hunch.

#10 Seed North Carolina State

Tonight, the Gators will eliminate #2 Seed Kentucky. The Gators lost a series 2-1 during the season but outscored the mildcats 26-20 over the 3 games. I'm looking for the Gators to breakout offensively like during the regional and super regional, say 9-6 UF.

It's going to be interesting to see if the final polls reflect UF for what the Gators have and are doing in the postseason. From 28-27 to currently 35-29 and still playing in the CWS. UF has beaten supposed better teams to get to still playing in the CWS, historical in and of itself as no team with this type of win/loss record has ever played in the CWS let alone advance this deep into the tournament.

I was hoping we could at least get a Coppola innings in.

 

We are riding one player that can hit, one player that is elite out of the pen, and cobbling everything else together.

 

We need to beat Kentucky once and A&M twice. We need to avoid A&M arms. Luckily unless we get a boatload of rainouts we should avoid Prager

Our pitching is a bunch of band aids tied together any day we play so I don’t think it matters.

 

My perception is the entire team has been "special" since the Regionals started.

I liked the good finish to your post, but it is fashionable among a segment of posts to express morbid dissatisfaction with the team. OK, they must be pretty crummy to be still playing while only 300 of 305 D1 teams watch us on tv. I don't feel entitled to sparkling performances and glamorous stats- obviously the best player in the sport isn't enough- or even wins, but from that list, wins make me pretty happy.

I was disappointed with so many regular season losses that we had to scrape into the postseason and the Mizzou sweep was utterly miserable, but the games that matter have been absolutely special and worth enjoying.

 

Please send them another note demanding they fix the friggin camera showing the plate from the field view.
It just makes no sense.
Never mind, it’s on now.
It reminds me when in college football, they show really big plays from the friggin Sky cam.
Maybe they can send the schematics of the camera operating system to paidinfull and he can send them the remedy.

You are right of course, and I think prety much everyone is enjoying the run. But I think there is a lot of baseball knowledge on this board, and that it is impossible for there not to be conversation about several of the painfully obvious issues with the team. You have to tip your cap to the coaches and players for being where they are, but you also kinda have to scratch your head and wonder how they are here at the same time.

And it’s been working up to this point. Whether it’s Thomas, Wilson, Shelnut or Mikey freaking Robertson someone has stepped up when needed.

 

Is it possible to underachieve and overachieve in the same season? Feels like we did both.

 

Welp, I can now watch the Panthers/Oilers hockey game without switching back and forth. I am not a Panthers fan (my youngest son is. I have always been a Blackhawks fan) but I know it would be a good thing for him.
