I can only tell you that there are indicators — many open-source; many you aren’t privy to yet — that strongly suggest Putin himself is increasingly worried about that possibility. And it’s not the people who concern him as much as his inner circle who protect him from the people. But it looks like you’re getting a little worried yourself as evidenced by your progressively shrill and emotional posts. As I said, I am continuously prepared to reevaluate my assessment of the trajectory of the war based on a decline in Ukrainian elan and/or meaningful Russian victories in the field. If your boys actually capture Kharkiv, then it’s time for a hard look. If they just keep threatening to do stuff, then no. I’m past two hands and two feet on Russian threats that they were unable and/or unwilling to carry out.

It’s true that Ukrainians hate Russians more than Russians hate Ukrainians. This is so much the case that Ukrainians would probably happily sacrifice ten of their own for the glory of killing one Russian. And that’s probably roughly the kill ratio.

I just went to see what I could see outside of this thread on how is Russia's most recent offensive in the Ukraine going. This is 35 minutes old and doesn't look like it debunks but rather supports the line of thought that most recently the Ukranians are doing heavy damage to the Russia invaders. this is pretty much the consensus from just about everyone. the biggest issue for Ukraine is that recruitment rate. Russia is recruiting new meat faster than they lose it. I’m not sure if Ukraine can say the same.
I’m not sure that’s true. I understand why Russia wants us to think that’s true, but there’s a reason they have not executed the next round of mobilization their generals have begged for. There’s only two reasons not to take advantage of Russia’s massive manpower. The first would be it’s not necessary, and I would say you would really have to suspend disbelief to buy that Russia thinks it’s winning militarily and has no need for more troops in the field. The second is you fear the domestic effects of another draft call more than you fear continuing the war with no end in sight.
Again, as of the last update with geolocated imagery and reporting, Russia is literally advancing everywhere. The same sources were very quick to point out where Ukraine was making headway in the past. Many times their reports had a pro-Ukrainian feel, simply because they were noting more Ukrainian successes than Russian successes in several of their reports from the counteroffensive Ukraine attempted last year. These same sources are reporting today nothing but Russian gains. Incremental gains, but all Russian gains nonetheless. Just because Russia isn’t overrunning the Ukrainian military blitzkreig style doesn’t mean they are losing the war.
