And if her diploma says Oklahoma instead of Stanford she will lose that 250k back in less than 10 years in lost salary probably. Mid career wise, the average Stanford grad makes 60k more than an OU grad a year, so over her lifetime it will be well north of a million lost, even with the money from NIL. Just so she can pitch in a game with almost no real professional opportunities.
Just a crazy world we live in.

Gasso buys players every year because she has a boatload of money nobody else has. She doesn't hide it. She flaunts it.

Yeah - I think if she was coming to Florida like was said several days ago, we wouldn't have signed the pitcher from UNC-Wilmington. My guess is we were probably finalizing the details of her transfer to Florida like the person who first brought it up said. But then Patty called with an offer she thought she couldn't refuse. Oh well. I kind of have the same attitude Steve Spurrier used to have. We only want players who really want to be Gators. We're going to be a Top 3 team next year because every young lady on the softball team is exactly where they want to be.

But, the real question is "when will the softball media call out OU for what they are and not trumpet their championships?" Maxwell, probably Canady, and so many others. Elite players don't go to OU like they do to other schools. They go because they are bought and paid with Gasso's unlimited money from the benefactor we all know who it is. On top of that sham and smear on the game, several of their players act every year as total obnoxious jerks. Kinzie Hanson is not one of them. But, you have someone like Jayda Coleman, an incredible talent, who preens and laughs in the face of the opposing team, clearly simply publicly saying, "you can't touch me...I'm better than you." I would love to see somebody like Amanda call them out for what they are but it won't happen. Amanda has a budding media career and to do that would be suicide for her. Suffice it to say, OU may win one championship after another but they don't earn the respect or admiration from anyone else in the game. They don't play softball the way the Gators do and the way Mandy Softball plays the game.

Just out of curiosity there is a picture of her (UNCW pitcher) in post 1757, one of about 10 pictures which show her arm extended. I’m guessing that is her ulnar collateral ligament on the inside of her elbow that appears to be bulging out? I hear about all these baseball pitchers with torn UCL’s but wasn’t sure where it was located on the arm.

I'm a bit late to learning about this -- are we talking truck stop money?

More of an inning eater. That is unless she can learn a new pitch or benefit from our pitching coach. We will see.

1990, how much money do you estimate we have to offer in the softball pool annually?

Of course. You really don't think the money stopped with a $10 million donation to help build the new stadium do you?

Seriously, no biggie. I worry more about a pitcher like Mac Morgan of Texas than Canady who tips her off speed by a shorter follow through. UF hitting needs to improve against the off speed and drop ball in the offseason. UF does well hitting fast balls and laying off the risers.

UF has to play their game and pitch well to beat OU. With all of OU's losses, 10 experienced seniors, I expect just that will happen in 2025. Canady won't cover those losses, and neither will the newcomers via recruiting and the portal.

It's just so frustrating theat they are literally buying players and no one calls them out on it. They would not be where they are on their own talent. I mema theyve started rumors about Rothrock entering the portal because they know shes better than anything they have. They think theyre entitled to the best players on other teams because they got the money bag and itd sadly true. Luck for us Rothrock is all gator. Without maxwell this year.... they were toast. Without canady... they will be toast next year.
Really looking forward to seeing Kara. Seems to be a good pickup. Don't expect her to shut down teams but will defintley take some pressure and innings off our younger arms with Oxley and Miller i think to let them develop aand allow Rothrock and Brown to get 100% and be more rested for post season.

Sorry, but a lot of whining going on here. No one on this board would complain if we put the money forward that OU does and got the players they are getting. Since we apparently are not willing to match them, we will have to win with what we got. We already proved in OKC we are up to the challenge. Let it go….

Rest assured plenty of our opponents noticed and complained that perhaps our 3 best players were portal transfers

The difference in our three transfers is that they were not bought. They wanted to be Gators and they wanted to graduate from or be graduates of our university.
