I checked out an A&M board, and the posters were surprised too. However, I saw this reasoning: Going win-loss or loss-win leads you to the exact same path in the CWS, so it doesn’t matter if you throw your #1 in game 1 or 2. Lamkin had the best day against Florida back during the regular season. Their real #2 at this point is Cortez, who will come into the game the second that Lamkin looks shaky, but maybe Lamkin can buy them innings before that happens. Sounds reasonable enough. Hopefully we can take game 1 regardless of how they are treating game 2.
Texas A&M going with LHP Justin Lampkin as opening starter in CWS vs Florida baseball Here's more info.
I hear you 87... Gators are playing with house money and after squeaking into the post-season, playing must-win games on the road for the past month-- being in Omaha is an outstanding achievement. That said… every time you suit up you want to win and it’s not unrealistic to think they can make a run. Need Peterson to flush his poor start in Clemson and pitch as he did down the stretch, including in Stillwater. Our Pen is in good shape-- Sully has identified several reliable RPs he has faith in: Neely, Jameson, Clemente, Menendez (Fisher and Slater situational). The guys are rested but staying in the winner’s bracket helps enormously as the games are spaced nicely so you don’t need more than 5-6 arms to get you through. It appears that bracket 2 is a little less formidable than bracket 1. New season. Go Gators!
Wing, if you're going, not sure I'll be able to say no (not that you're asking, just sayin'). Go GATORS! ,WESGATORS
I’m planning on going . Let’s get Sat first That’s what I did last time I was there with everyone. ‘17
Get your bags packed gentlemen. I have this hunch/feeling whatever you want to call it--this year is the 2nd one!
I just updated the weather forecast. It's not looking good. Rain and lightning off and on from noon to midnight.
The weather forecast for this place seems to change significantly hour by hour. The CURRENT forecast has 24% chance of rain with overcast. The overcast is there, now There was a rather dramatic thunderstorm at 4:30 or so this morning but it looks nice with just clouds, now.
On a related note... FSU chokes away the game against Tennessee in the bottom of the 9th. I'm calling that the latest installment in the FSU "Choke in Omaha" series!
