    I would say it’s more complicated than soccer (just about every sport is) but less than football and baseball.

    I would also say cricket is generally less subjective than those sports (eg holding, pass interference, fouls, offsides, strike zones are all so subjective)

    The game between US and Ireland today was a washout because of the rains in South Florida. The teams will split the points and this means US qualifies to the Super 8 stage over Pakistan!! India is the other qualifier from this group. Amazing achievement for Team USA as they were predicted to finish last in this group (India, Pakistan, Ireland, Canada, USA)!!

    USA plays co-hosts West Indies next in the first Super 8 game next Friday in Bridgetown, Barbados.

    Well, the US did beat Pakistan head to head. So there’s poetic justice in the result. Windies are one of the top teams in this format and will be tough to beat. But the US is playing with house money and has nothing to lose. Our software engineers will have to extend their out-of-offices!!

    USA to the last 8. Afghanistan being the other surprise team. Former champions Pakistan, Sri Lanka out in the first round and England might not make it either - crazy tournament so far.
