Omaha Roll Call

Won't be in Omaha, but will be at The Thirsty Gator, in Winter Park Saturday night, with some good Gator friends, cheering on the Gator Boys.

Anyone hear if Texas or South Carolina found their new Head Coaches???

 

Can't go this year. I have a lot of commitments even in retirement and made them thinking that Omaha was very unlikely over a month ago.

Some year I will commit very early and go even if the Gators don't make it. It is a hajj for college baseball fans.

 

USCe hired Paul Mainieri ( former ND and LSU HC). No idea about Texas.

 

Texas hasn’t fired their current coach.

 

Ok, thought I saw a tidbit about them asking LSU's Skipper, and he said no thank you....

We will still have to dodge some of them--maybe not as many as if they were there--but those teams have contingents that are always present!

 

My grandson and I went to our first Gator baseball game in 1995. We decided we would go to the CWS this year, regardless of the Gators making it. We got tickets in April and have seats right the third base dugout for their first game. That is the aTm dugout as it turns out but still great seats.

 

Heading back again this year.

 

I've no use for Peyton. I didn't really warm up to my UT side until my son went to UT.

That is NOT true. Two of mine graduated from UTn.

True convo last night with my son:
Me: Pulling for the Volz to beat the Noles tomorrow?
Him: No way. Never want UTn to win at anything. Go Noles.
Me: But its the hated Noles.
Him: I grew up in Knoxville with these assholes, not Tallahassee. I'll never pull for the Volz in anything. I'd even pull for Georgia...
Me: That's it. Don't say anything else.

THIS is successful parenting, my friends. Well, except for the Georgia thing...

 

I’m rooting for SWAC because Tennessee has never won the title. Like to keep it that way.

My issues have never been with the players. “11” on the other hand….

I’m rooting for one of them to go 0-2 and the other to go 1-2. Don’t care who wins a game. I guess, gun to my head, I’d prefer toothless to continue to be winless in Omaha.
